Ever get that, usually late night , while watching TV , to go pull one out of the safe and admire it for a little while?
Maybe you dont shoot it too often. And almost forget you have it. Then something makes you think of it, and you just got to go dig it out and hold it for a bit?
Last night, it was my 1894, nothing really special about it , just that I really like it, but dont hardly shoot it . But just had to dig it out.
Got home from work and saw it still sitting out and had to laugh at myself a bit.

When I moved 5 years ago, most of my long guns were stored at my F-I-L's walk in gun safe, I finally got them all to the new condo about a year ago. One night I was looking for one of my varmint rifles, and opened a case with 4 lever actions in it (Marlin 1895 GG 45-70, Browning 1886 45-70, Marlin 1894 CL 32-20, & a Ubirti 1873 44 Special). I was so overwhelmed with joy to see these old friends of mine! I gave up on the Ground Hog killer and spent hours going over the 4 lever guns.

The next night I took inventory of my ammo for them and ordered components to make up any short falls, for a long summer of getting reacquainted!

I keep snap caps in my 3rd Gen Colt SAA just so I can pull it out when watching the occasional western.

I do that at the LGS, particularly the S&W and Luger sections at Collector's Firearms. Yesterday, I was looking at a vintage Model 19 so closely with my face pressed to the glass, they asked if I was OK. I try not to drool to much.

Yep I have done this many times. Just have a hankering to look at it and familiarize the trigger action. Sometimes I might even shoot one the next day. My 627-5 has been calling for my attention for some time now. I just might actually load it up for some shooting. Seems I have said that more than a few times.
