So if my Blue Jackets make the playoffs and the Rangers don't is it Rick Nash's fault? Or Glen Sather's?:D

Anyway four games to go in the regular season, we're hanging on to the 8 spot by a thread, the Red Wings look to miss for the first time since The Simpsons debuted, and Pittsburgh is still Cindy-less.

Bring it on!

I think a Blue Jackets / Jets final would be fun really. (Since my Lightning really stunk it up this year :( ) Might be the lowest TV ratings final, but I would enjoy it.

even without crosby, neal, and, malkin, the pens manage to win easily. the addition of morrow, iginla, jokinen(jussi that?), and murray on defense puts them in a great spot to take it all.

sid will most likely be back in time for some play off action.

my only fear is that they get out coached again this year like in the previous years.

on a side note...when is the NHL going to do something about sean avery lite...a.k.a. P.K. Subban?

I'm not participating this year. Both sides in the strike annoyed me enough that I haven't been to, watched or read about hockey this year. The Sharks could win the Stanley Cup and I won't give a....hoot. Way to go, NHL...

My heart is in Columbus but m money is on a Pens/'Hawks final.

I would love to see that. I have a lot of pens friends and all of my family/gf are hawks fans

Many years ago I almost got lynched in Minneapolis. A group of people were watching a game on TV and I asked them if they knew the definition of a Minnesota pervert. Then I told them: anyone who would rather have sex than watch hockey.

Barely escaped with my life!

I'm enjoying the South East battle. They're so bad as a bunch that if Washington loses a game and Winnipeg wins one, the Jets move from 9th to 3rd and the Caps fall from 3rd to an 8th place tie on the bubble with NYR.

I know it, I think every team in the SE was in 1st place at least once during this shorten season.

And next season everything is upside down with re-alignment :( (going to be very confusing in the beginning)

The Pens clinched the eastern conference with a win this afternoon over the boston bruins. it was a delayed game due to some dipwad in boston yesterday.

Very much looking forward to the move. Playing divisional away games without crossing three time zones - priceless!

I hope to participate in this thread with my Blue Jackets as playoff competitors. As of now,I anticipate a Pitts.-St.L final.

This will be the 6th year we have some fun at the S&W forum regarding good old hockey.

The official thread picture, Strato, Mike From St Pete and James 56 in the state of shock.

Waiting for some of the regulars to show up, probably once the playoffs officially begin.

i like the realignment...i never understood why columbus was in the west...

did i say GO PENS!!!

It was in the plan back in 1997 when the franchise was announced but got squashed due to pressure from some of the Original Six teams. They didn't want to lose the Wings/Hawks rivalry. I have some early memorabilia showing the Eastern Conference logo. The exit of Atlanta and re-admittance of Winnipeg brought things to a head.

I cannot imagine the joy of playing away games and being back home the same evening. Actually having time to practice at home between games, and as a fan watching divisional away games at 7 PM instead of 10 PM.

The Blue Jackets will play 68 of 82 games in the Eastern Time Zone compared to 50 in the past. Instead of 6 trips to the Mountain/Pacific time zone, we'll make 2.

Yeah, it's huge. Look out Coasties, we're coming!:D
