Here a few photos of the 6.5" compensated 460 with my recently completed uncompensated version.

Looks good!
But how do you retain the barrel & sleeve? Love to see the image of the muzzle end. Have you shot it?

In the PC versions of the compensated hunter the compensator is threaded onto the barrel and tensions against the shroud. The new 3.5 inch carry model uses a nut with 4 notches and the nut does not protrude past the shroud. I used that nut in place of the compensator. The challenge with the PC 460s models is a tool has to be fabricated to hold the barrel in place while torquing the nut once the BC has been set.

Shoots the same to me as the comped model any additional recoil is unnoticeable to me but sure does keep a lot of noise and blast from coming back, same with shooting the 12" model.

Now I need to come up with another 10.5" gun to convert for hunting.

Rugghy: I think you need to change your name to Dr. 460! LOL!

As to reduced noise and blast with the non-comped 460s: Would you now take a live shot at game afield with no hearing protection?? I have done so on a couple of occasions with a 6.5" 44mag. Obviously not the smartest thing in the world to do.. But how many people hunted with muffs on before the days of the X-frame anyway....

And I NEVER go afield with my 460v without muffs on. Was just wondering if deleting the comp makes it significantly more bearable to take a shot at game without muffs??

Absolutely not, I use plugs and muffs at the range an use plugs when hunting (occasionally both).

And yes I am definitely a big 460 fan.
