The 627-0 and 627-1,3lbs. of 357 Magnum stainless.

my 627-0 is a shooter..I've put quite a few rounds thru it..very smooth and extremely accurate..mine has Hogue grips that I put on..I bought it used back in '92 for a paltry sum of $350...it had Pachmayr grips, no box...

I had problems with the star extractor in that it would turn..sent it into S&W and they replaced the cylinder/extractor with the newer type thats on the -1's..to be honest I like the "beef" of the -1 extractor better...they also took the time to keep close tolerance of cylinder to forcing cone..

the cost was..nothing...and the gun shoots just as well as ever..I love my 627-0

I like the new style front sight the -1 incorporates. I have a -0 and bought one for each of my two sons, but have never laid eyes on a -1. In fact, I think this is the first photos I have seen either. Does anyone know the dash number of the 5 inch 627's with fluted cylinder made in the early 90s?

The front sight on the -0 and the -1 engineering revisions is the same.

Did you mean to say the rear sight?

My -1 has been pictured on this forum many times in these 627 threads.

The -1 engineering revision is drilled and tapped for scopes. That caused the rear sights forward screw to be relocated. At this point S&W also began rounding off the front of the spring leaf giving the sight a much better appearance.

Of the four engineering revisions that product code 101024 was produced under, the -1 would be my first choice for a shooter. The -2 is the one that is hardest to find even though the no dash gets all the oohs and aahs for being rare.

Colt saa: I did mean the rear sight! I guess I just didn't look closely enough and assumed your -1 was a -0. I am pretty sure I did not realize yours was a -1 as i have been curious about them, having had -0's and two -2's that are 6 shot, 6 inch guns, and wondering what was in between. I started out over 10 years ago looking for a six shot, fluted cylinder 5" 627 that I knew they made, and now have a bunch of 627s but not the one that started my search.

I just commented yesterday on another post about what I thought of my 627-0. I knew it was heavy, but that never bothered me. I think I would have to be starving and homeless before I would let her go. Even my wife likes to shoot it.

What's the going rate for a 627-0 Model of 1989, 5 1/2 inch, with combats, no box or paperwork, high 90% ?

Rarely seen for sale in my neck of the woods but I wouldn't think twice pulling the trigger for $1100 or less. W/O the combats say $1000.

NIB: $1200 or less would work for me given location.

There is one now on GB for $1800 but that is being sold by a familiar dealer known for stretching the price limits.

Older thread but good info Allen . I fixin to send my 627-0 off to Jim Stroh at Alpha Precision for some work .

I've got a bead on one for alot less, but someone has a hold on it until next week. :(

Nice.

My LGS during the n frame sale he had two 4" barreled revolvers with the full under lug one was a 44mg and the other was a 45lc. In stainless the barrels could of been longer they were hidden in the case. Went back to look again they were gone. I think the label said Hunter on it.
