Apologies to those who took the time to reply to my last post. I meant to inquire about the 952 and 945.

I'm not a PC fan but it appears the 952 and 945 have really outdone themselves with the hand-fit and excellent trigger.

The kydex holster options will be limited as will the mags, but obviously they're out there (for a price, yikes).

As a pure range or gaming gun does anyone have input on these 9 and 45?

I shot the S&W 945 in bullseye pistol matches for several years. It was an excellent peformer but my shooting did not require a holster. I have shot my S&W 952 in steel challenge matches using a Pardini speed holster left over from my Pardini GT-45- that speed holster is also usable with the S&W 945. I have not shot bullseye pistol for several years but still have the S&W 945.

I own both a 3" and 5" 945's... very excellent guns. As advertised, hand fit, trigger, accurasy are all there. Flawless guns. I bought the 3" to carry, because it was the only 3" style 1911 I could find in Mass. Then the 3" SW1911 Pro was made legal for $800.00 less!! But I have no regrets, I'll buy that Pro someday too.. :D As for carrying the 3" 945, I think it is a little too nice to carry everyday. The 5" was really awsome shooting, with the longer barrel the flip was much less than the 3" . They are both tac drivers..

My initial idea was to purchase my 952-2 for competition shooting sports. I quickly discovered no one uses it in USPSA because a holster cannot be found and the low magazine round count. I considered IDPA and found basically the same reasons. I understand one specific holster can be used (I believe it's made by Safariland) for the 952, but I gave up any further idea of even trying to use that model in the shooting sports. Mine is seldom used, and if it is, I take it to the range for accurate hole placement in the bulls eye.

Thanks for the honest input. I can totally see myself in the same situation.

"Well, this was supposed to be my game gun but....so let's shoot it a couple of mags' worth and put it away."

I have the 945 in 5" and the 952 in 6". Both are exceptional handguns. Fit and finish is excellent. The 945 is the most accurate pistol I have ever fired. I believe the PC firearms are worth every penny.

I really enjoy the PC guns The two tone 945-1 turns some heads before you pull the trigger and after. The 952 lives up to the name as well. Just picked up my 945-1 compact today and cant wait to try it out. Not as much flash as the two tone but the trigger and fitting of this thing is unreal.
