The Apex Ultimate Drop In Striker Block Kit has arrived

I just did the install tonight, and it went pretty smooth. Getting the rear sight out was a pain, because that stock sight was really in there good and sure didn't want to come out. Once out, it was a quick and easy install. The only thing I have to say about this kit is WOW! Paired up with the Apex sear that I had previously installed, my M&P's trigger is as smooth as a fine bourbon! There's no more crunchy takeup, the break is smooth and clean, and the reset is very noticeable. I highly recommend this kit, especially if you already have the Apex sear or plan on getting it.

Flork~I believe I've talked to you on the INGO boards too, have you guys got an idea when the "Duty" sears will be coming out. If I remember right you were working on these to smooth the operation but not reduce the pull weight of the trigger. I'm undecided on which kit I want so I'll probably wait until I hear some feedback on the duty version. Great job getting the striker block kit's out on the market, I'll be looking into one of those real soon.

We're not planning to release a direct factory replacement sear for the M&P. Others are making a direct factory replacement sear.

We're on the verge of releasing the Apex Duty Action Enhancement Kit for the M&P. This kit will include the following:

1 Apex Hard Sear (standard or 45 model)
1 Apex Ultimate Striker Block
1 Apex Ultimate Striker Block Spring
1 Apex Heavy Duty Sear Spring
1 Apex Heavy Duty Trigger Return Spring
1 Talon Tactical Rear Sight Installation Tool.

The Apex Duty Action Enhancement Kit is a DIY drop in kit that will produce a 5.5 to 6lb trigger pull that is perfect for Everyday Carry, Home Defense, Duty and Tactical applications.

The Apex Duty Action Enhancement Kit was engineered to smooth initial trigger up take and striker release while maintaining plenty of sear engagement to guarantee safety. Trigger reset is reduced and over travel is limited to produce the best drop in action enhancement on the market today.

This kit will retail for less than $70 when it is released within the next couple of weeks.

Awesome. Many are looking forward to this exact combination of items.

Awesome. We've had a lot of inquiries about this package, it's just taken us a while to get the necessary parts engineered, tested and manufactured.

The final production parts will be in soon and we'll have them available ASAP.

Is the Apex Duty Action Enhancement Kit ok to install for IDPA and USPSA matches?

Yes, it absolutely is. I'm planning to set mine up with a 4lb trigger for IDPA/IPSC.

I am assuming that the springs will be available separately for those of us that already have your awesome sear and striker block? Any update on time frame for these springs?

The install for the sear is really so simple that unless the smith lives next door to you, it's not worth the trouble to look him up. Apex has a video on their site that shows how to do it. Basically, you need an 1/8" and a 1/16" pin punch, a small hammer, and about 15-20 minutes of time. (The video runs 7 minutes. ;) )

A couple things the video did not mention, but should - though anyone can see it if they look. First, the assembly that holds the sear actually fits into a keyway in the frame - keep an eye open for it. Second, the trigger bar projects back into this assembly, and must be in place BEFORE it is eased back into its slot in the frame. Of course the ejector can fall free while you are doing this. It's a little awkward, but easy enough if you have a little patience and just think about what you're trying to do.

Be careful not to bend the trigger bar by forcing things that are not properly lined up. (The video does mention this, so it must happen now and then.)

He mentions checking function of the gun with a snap cap, which is good, but I would only load a couple rounds in the magazine until you have tested the gun enough to know it is safe.

Yes, the spring kit will be offered as a separate package. That package will be available within the next week.

We are offering a service to install the USB kit into your slide for $25 plus shipping. As for the Sear, it would cost more than 3 times the cost of the parts kit for over night shipping.

My recommendation would be to find a local armorer or smith that is willing to throw them in for you. Install is very simple and easy to follow on our instructional videos at YouTube - apextactical's Channel

Oh man....It's been a heck of a day....we got the Trigger Bar Springs in and they're all packed and ready to go.

Our Duty/Carry Action Enhancement kits are on our web-store. The kit includes our sear, striker block and spring, duty rate trigger return and sear springs.

The combination should yield a pretty nice carry trigger.

For those who already have our sear and USB, we will have the spring only kits up in the next day or so. We are attempting to reconfigure our shopping cart to allow for parcel post shipping.

If you absolutely cannot wait for the shopping cart, email us at [email protected] We (to be read LISA) will be processing the spring kits manually until the shopping cart is set up.

Remember, be nice to Lisa in your emails. She has lumps of coal for the naughty ones.

I ordered a Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit for my M&P9 on 10 March.

Looking forward to trying it out!

MrMark,

Your parts should arrive today, if not Monday.

I've got the raw footage for the install video, I just need to edit the snot out of it and post it. I should have it done by Monday.

Scott

Awesome. Gotta love the USPS.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the spring kit.

Thank you for making these items Scott!
Nice job from what it sounds like here, TFL, THR, and Glocktalk, many people are recommending your upgrades for the M&P.

I have decided to get a M&P 9 and 9c because of this offering.

I wonder how we can get this moved to the M&P sub-forum?
Maybe it could be "sticky" to the top.

Hi Flork,

When will the APEX M&P Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit (DCAEK)
be back in stock for sale.

Thx, seabass (aka. Triad bro)

The USB's are scheduled to arrive today, if they do, they'll be back up on our site today. If not, tomorrow.
