The ASP Model 39 modification...

I picked up a lightly used ASP back in the early 90s, it cost me a left nut but bought me back a nut and a half when I sold it a few years later. I still have a brand new Guttersnipe sight I bought from them around 1988.

ASP Pistols

I love these guns and have more than I need! They were a great carry gun and probably my favorite concealment pistol. Thanks for all the posts and pictures. Love them!!

I ordered ASP info years ago , here are copies.

I had a complete ASP set (the book, holster etc) in MINT condition. I picked it up about 15 years ago and ten years ago I had to sell it to help fund a business venture... Ive been looking for a complete set the past few years and have had no luck... I actually would buy a complete set and one in just good condition to carry if I could find them! (The business venture paid off). It's honestly one of my favorite types of sites for carry, works perfect for close range which is the only shoot out Id end up in these days and the handgun would only be a tool to get to my longgun. I can clearly see how my SVI Ti Tiki sight system was inspired by the ASP.

I like the custom stuff with the 39 and 59 as a base. I LOVE the 39 and have wanted one for ages. I particularly want a nickel version. Beautiful pistols.

The other day I happened to be reading about the DEVEL and ASP customs. I'd love to have either one but would pick the DEVEL.

CORRECT ME if I'm wrong, but isn't Wayne Novak a huge ASP and DEVEL aficionado and collector? I read that he was. I think there were only less then 150 DEVEL conversions done back in the day. Pretty rare stuff.

Also, not sure if this is right or not, but the DEVEL and ASP customs use a stock length 39 slide, right? I mean the 'Smith didn't chop the slide did he? I would think that there are plenty of gunsmiths today that could take a 39 and do some incredible stuff with it. It would be interesting to see what would come out if you told him/her that you wanted a DEVEL or ASP and to get there however he wanted.

More pics please!!
