wbraswell's post got me thinking. On the other side of the coin, my vote would have to go to the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.

Shown is a Kobe beef burger . . . and yes . . . that IS lobster & asparagus for toppings! :D :D :D

And no . . . my cardiologist would NOT approve! :D

George, that's a interesting burger. Under special circumstances I can see myself enjoying one.

However, for my basic burger craving, I just have not found a better burger than can be had at Kincaid's Grocery here in Fort Worth. Recently we've had Smash Burger and 5 Guys open up and they were heralded as THE burger. Kincaid's has them beat.

Next time you get to Fort Worth give them a try. Shoot me an email and I'll meet you there. I'll buy. The wife is tired of me dragging her there!

Could 'probly buy another sweet 27, for the price of that burger..

Burger Bar in St. Louis. I didn't spring for the Kobe burger, but I did try the turkey burger. It was definitely the best turkey burger I've ever had.

As far as chain burgers go my vote goes out to Red Robin. Best burger overall is what I can make home.

In metro Phoenix, there are two top choices, both equal/identical: The Chuckbox, across from the ASU campus, on University Dr., in downtown Tempe, and The Original Hamburger Works, at the SEC of Thomas Rd. and 15th Ave., in Phoenix. The secret in both places is grilling ground chuck over mesquite. I like the bacon cheeseburger made with an unusually shaped round slab of bacon, your choice of cheese, superb condiments, and of course great Freedom Fries and onion rings. Runner up in AZ is Bun Huggers, in Flagstaff, another place to tick off a few minutes from your expected lifespan, while savoring every moment...

I like it George, all the food groups :)

The best burger I ever ate was back in the '80's at Orange Julius.
In the St. Louis area I like the burgers at Tuckers Place. This city is far behind some other places, no 5 Guys, no In and Out etc.

Burgers

Grover's Bar & Grill @ 9160 Transit Rd, East Amherst, NY 14051. Now you are talking some tasty burger! 12 oz and cooked to order. My ladyfriend and I split one for lunch occasionally, medium rare. Superb.

Dyson

If I want a great burger and I am in Atlanta...the blue cheeseburger at Six Feet Under (across from historic Oakland Cemetary, hence the name) is outstanding....absolutely delicious....get the homemade potato chips with it...

For around here and what passes for "fast food"...the best is 5 guys....no doubt about it..

Honestly,I won't go out for a Burger.Just seems so wrong when I can cook one anyway we like.I'll go out for other things.

Anybody remember Lums? The last one closed a year or so ago.

Well I will give my 2 cents worth on this subject. Since I am a cona-sewer of fine foods. I have traveled to a few different ares in the last few years. I went to the Upper part of Michigan. And we were in Sault Ste. Marie we were taken to the West Pier. It looks like a run down building BUT OH MY GOD that has to be the best burger I have ever ate in my life. Even though it was in Yankee land I will have to give them the AAA+++ We were only there for about two days but made three trips to the West Pier. And I saw the Soo Locks with the ore loads going through. Great place to vacation also.

I remember Lums. I think there is still one down in Pembroke Pines or the Miramar area.
