Well,
I have become the latest, proud new owner of a Wesman Special;
Poohgyrr, Matt Murphy, Grinder and of course Wesman's on his 915.

During one of my many trips down to "Hurricane Central", I hooked up with Wesman a few times and low and behold.
He comes up with all the spare parts to put together the last of the 5.00" Wesman Specials.
What a great guy.................

I finally get it home,
get over to the shop and do a little fitting to my 5906's and my beautiful 5903 that I purchased from Grinder, some time ago.
Along with some extra black parts; extended magazine release, single sided single action safety/de-cocker from a 356 "Limited",
John Ricco's custom tactical magazine bumper bases from CP Bullets, just need to swap out the black slide release from my 411.
Then it should be perfectly complete.

In preparation for a plate shoot tomorrow night, I will get to the range tomorrow to dial it in on paper, range report to follow.
Wish me luck and I hope that you all enjoy the pictures.

Thanks again Wesman,
and with best regards,
BM1

Very nice BMO :)

Hey all,
I'm going to apologize right of the get-go for this post being soooo long,
but this was such a great first experience out with the "Wesman Special"

It all starts with;
I get an email from "Wesman", he tells me: "Hole is too big, get back to range. :)".
Ha, Ha, Haaaaaaaaaa.

Well,
My 5903 Wesman Special 5.00" and I shot over 600 rounds since Friday with the sighting in on paper,
rapid acquisition targeting and two plate/pin matches Friday night and Saturday.

Indoor plate shoot Friday night;
Qualified in "A" group for the final and during the evening I've been keeping an eye on this hot-shot kid in his early twenties,
he's good, usually five-for-five, and fast, really a joy to watch.

Talking to some of the other guys/gals, I find out that he is ranked
9th in the country overall, IDPA, IPSC, Two gun, Three gun, Bla, Bla, Bla..........
Way over my understanding of what type of competitions there are out there.

As luck would have it, right off the bat in the final eliminations, I end up shooting against him head to head, he "schools" me so I end up with a fourth place.
I would have been happier if in the "luck of the draw", I shot against either of the other two finalists and I think I know how that would have turned out.
Needless to say, I'm very happy with the way my new 5.00" "Wesman Special" and I shot at that point :).

At the end of the night I get to talking to the young guy,
I mention to him there is a bowling pin shoot Saturday am in a town that's adjacent to where I live and it turns out that's it is in the town he lives in.
He shoots all the time at that range but was not aware that they were starting earlier this year in March,
usually they start in April, but the weather in New England has been so unseasonably mild.

Outdoor bowling pin shoot Saturday;
Again, as luck would have it, I get lined up next to the "Kid" (Eddie) for the first pairing, OMG.
I get five-for-five and a split second before him, it was just sheer luck and the fact that he was holstered,
starting from the "Surrender" position and because I was not holstered, I got to start from the "low-ready" position.

As we were walking away from the line, I hear in my electronically amplified hearing protection, "Hey, who is that guy?" and "Did you see that, he got Eddie".
Everyone else knows "Eddie the Kid" because he shoots there all the time, I just met him the night before.
I have been on a waiting list to get into this local range and found out that I'm just waiting for the letter of acceptance now.

We spoke right after the volley and he said he was thrown by hearing my first shot before him and seeing my first pin go.
We had a great time and joked with me about the gun I had, said "it gave me an unfair advantage", Ha, Ha.
He noted at how high the sights were, and perfect with the sun at our backs.
For me shooting in sunlight makes all the difference in the world, eyes getting older, ya' know.

It was the only time we lined up together and, thank God for that, he got into his groove.
We ended up side by side again in a three man double elimination final, I tied for second,
I was very happy with my performance for the two days with my "Wesman Special" :).

Of course, hindsight always being 20-20,
if I had not mentioned to "Eddie the Kid" about the bowling pin shoot at his and soon to be my home range ? ? ? ? ?
LOL

Best regards,
BM1-hole:)

I just couldn't help myself, I just had to...........................................

I visited my local LGS's this past Sunday after shooting the past two days.
Just wanted to take a closer look at the guns allot of competitors were using, besides the Glock 34's.
Was looking to find the Springfield XD(M) 9mm 5.25, and I did.

Long story, short version;
Trigger was a little mushy, barrel to slide clearance at the muzzle was quite a bit.
I did like the 19 rd. magazines, though I didn't see the immediate need for that many.

But it gave me an idea.
I have some 20 rd. S&W 9mm mags just sitting in a drawer.
Went to the shop, found some grey PVC blocks, took some measurements and started to whittle away.
Used my 5906 as a pattern so as not to scratch up my 5903.
I could easily glass bead blast the 5906 if I nicked it.
This is what I ended up with.
Regards,
BM1

I just couldn't help myself - AGAIN

I had the opportunity to get into a small spot on the table of the CNC Vertical Machining Center and did some whittling.
This one is my .356 TSW Limited that I did the conversion on to 9 mm.
This extension is similar to the one I made for the 20 rd mag for the "Wesman Custom"

Wow

I must have been living under a rock, inside a cave. No other way to have missed this thread.

Congrats! The 5" Wesman Special (great name) is a very, very sweet pistol. And you did the alloy frame; awesome. Great pics too. I've drooled over your 356TSW posts, and now this. Thumbs up!

Very well done.

Thanks for sharing.
