I went out this morning to get in one last hunt with the muzzleloader before the end of the season. I sat in a good spot for the early part of the morning but kept hearing alot of activity not too far away, so around 9:00 am or so I took a walk down the main trail on the property. Not more than five minutes later I jumped two does heading up a large hill away from me. One bounded over and away, but the other stopped halfway up the hill and turned around to look at me. She was around 100 yards or so, but I compete with this gun, a EuroArms 1853 Enfield musketoon in .577, so I know what it is capable of. The front sight covered pretty much the whole deer, but it is super accurate, and it put the minie ball into the doe's neck dropping her right in her tracks. Who says you need an inline? A great end to the season.

Good shooting, and a neat looking carbine as well!

How much does a .577 caliber Musketoon cost? Are those ladder type sights on the rifle?

DixieGun Works sells this model for $650. I got this gun back in February for $250. Those are ladder type sights and they go up to 700 yards. FC Sutler sells an 1861 musketoon that was around $500 I believe.
