In my experieince, I have found this to be true for the most part.

My reason for asking is this is professional in nature. I have noticed a lot of high profile suspects...the suspects that have done acts recently in the news that have caused so much indescrible (sic) pain, suffering, and attention in the past few months. It was just reported that we had a near miss here in a large shopping mall.

The pictures of the suspects...whether they be mug shot, courtroom, or personal ALL seem to have the same look in the eyes to me. I call them "Manson eyes" and IMHO speak to me not of mental illness or hatred, but pure unadulterated evil. Like looking into an abyss.

Personally I have only ran into this personally only a very few times and it wasn't always with a suspect. On one occassion it was a business person who actually made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end and in this case, I have never felt that feeling again.

Does anyone else here get that same "sixth sense" or have that view?

Just trying to figure out if I'm reading too much into it.

Thanks!

If you see the whites of the eyes below the iris, that can be sign of a whackjob.

You are not reading too much into it. We are constantly told not to judge by appearances, but even my dog knows enough to judge by appearances.

There is no doubt there is evil in the world. But I think there is more to it than just the eyes. The sum of their facial expressions can tell a good story. If you work with them and can observe behavior and mannerisms, that is more info.

A very valuable life skill in today's working world is learning to spot the narcisists/psychopaths among your coworkers. You need to be able to figure out who can be trusted.

Dogs do seem to have a good sense for it.

I thought that Dogs operated mostly on smell.
When I wear shorts they like to smell my legs.
I always say, My Legs Must Smell Like Bacon!

Telecaster u are so right. My Pitbull reacts differently to certain people. And they usually look the part………. I did have an encounter with a guy when I was in my 30s. I didn't know him but knew who he was. He decided he had a problem with me. He had the blank dark look in his eyes. Maybe evil maybe drugs. He was trying to punch way above his weight class with me. The altercation was over quickly. The thought of defusing the situation never crossed my mind. I figured he had more than a simple bar fight in mind. Anyways he got what he deserved. Less than a yr later I see him on the news. Arrested for assault with deadly weapon (knife). I guess I judged that guy correctly.

I have always been "less friendly" with folks who avoid direct eye contact. After working in the "interpersonal field" in several jobs, I learned this is a characteristic of some "cognitive peculiarities", i.e. Aspergers/ASD. Since these are a small subset of the general population I won't be changing my outlook for the rest. Joe

My experience tells me there are two types of stereotypes. The first is "General Bigotry", this usually manifests itself as "ALL____'s are Bad, or Greedy, or Lazy, etc.

The second type of stereotype is a form of accumulated expierance or even wisdom. These exist for a good reason. They point out how the individual can manifest bad conduct, poor choices or just plain evil, but within a trend.

I have met and been around tens of thousands of people in my occupation as an apartment complex owner/operator. I also worked in mental health housing. Regardless of Race, Religion, or National Origin, I have found very good people and very bad people! (Have met several murders, thieves, wife/child beaters, and lots of Con-Men. Have met a few Bank robbers, Armed robbers, and two bombers! (Never met a kidnaper!) Like mathematicians, I have notice trends and behavior patterns, and even some physical similarities.

I have found "Wild Eyes" don't exist in healthy humans. But the causes are sometimes simple medical (especially Thyroid conditions) or more complex imbalances that can produce looks and behavior problems (mental illness).

The "Dead Eyes" on the other hand, in my limited experience, seem to be a manifestation of one of two things A) Total mental exhaustion, or B) a mental state that shares little with "Normal Human Behavior! Type A can be easily overcome if so desired. Type B is usually generational and can come from a savvier physical imbalance, or a spiritual condition bordering on "Demonic". Neither will "just go away". They require skilled and trained practitioners to get beneficial results, and also REQUIRE a continued desire to be "Better". (in other words; It takes more than just wishing to "Be Better' but on the other hand, if they don't want it, It Will Never Happen!)

That's more than two cents worth but shouldn't be too offensive.

If you have never read a book titled

The Gift of Fear by Gavin DeBecker

I would recommend it.

It is an easy read and if you have a daughter or younger female in your life you care about I would get them a copy.

Yep. I believe it. I mean, seriously, would you wanna invite this guy over to Sunday dinner with all the grandkids?

I hav encountered numerous individuals who struck me very quickly by their appearance, mannerisms, or vocal characteristics as being evil or at least dangerous to be around. One was the new president of a company I once worked for. I immediately sized him up as someone who was at heart an unbalanced and obnoxious bully, none too smart, and best avoided. The description of being a sociopath fitted him. I could not understand why he was even considered as a candidate for the job in the first place. Turned out I was correct. He essentially destroyed the company and drove it into bankruptcy in a little over a year. Partly because he was very intimidating, and no one would stand up to him. Another, even worse, was a USAF Lieutenant Colonel I sort of worked with for awhile. I knew he was pure evil from the instant I met him. He would have fit right into the SS. He also had sort of a crazed look in his eyes. I don't even want to think about him as it still gives me the creeps, even though it was about 30 years ago.

These "animals" have dead eyes. I have seen it many times. EVIL runs loose.

I told my wife early on our relationship that I had a "Dog's Sixth Sense" when it came to people. Right from the get go I learned to listen to the dog within. I told her that some people just make the dog growl, others have him wagging his tail. We would meet someone and my wife would say "What did the dog say?" I would tell her that he wasn't happy and we should avoid that person, sure enough later she would say something "remember that gal we were talking to?" and then go into a story about her doing something unsavory or getting arrested.
Crazy eyes...If you haven't seen them, your lucky. People whose eyes are mean little slits. I agree completely first blush look them in eye, if they avoid the contact watch for other clues. I remember learning the way someone will usually take a deep breath before throwing a punch at you, watch out for that one. You have to take in the big picture or your going to pay for it in the long run, people are dangerous animals and many should be treated as such.
