1st Car, after 6 months burnt more oil then gas:(
Easily recognized 57 Chevy.

2nd Car, brought me from Boston to Fort Dix NJ every weekend as I completed my 3rd year in the Army. I always smiled going over the George Washington Bridge in NY.
Great car, 65 Buick Skylark.

3rd Car, really had to pay attention to the speedometer, a definite power house.
Total Comfort. Mine was a light blue 65 Buick Riviera.

Well gang, give us a treat and let us see your first 3 autos.

How did you keep those cars from rusting in Massachusetts?

Mine were: 1)1964 Ford Galaxie; 2)1973 Plymouth Duster; 3)1972 Chevy Nova

LOL! I'm your lost twin! :D Mine was a plain Jane 4-door, green and white. Burnt oil at about the same rate. Hadn't seen a real mechanic in years. 2-speed auto trans stuck in high gear. I think I paid $70 for it!

Car #2: Got $250 trade-in toward a '65 Beetle, red.

Car #3: Got a 1965 Mustang GT fastback. What a car! Looked just like this one except it had a red & white pony interior.

Going to have to do some digging through old negatives for pictures.

1973 Mustang (sometimes called Grande or Coupe) with long front end and wide bumper but old straight up and down back window. (not slanted like Mach I)

1981 Buick Regal with red velvet interior (yay baby!)

3rd one was a 4 door AMC Eagle Wagon w/4 wheel drive. Can't remember the year for sure, but coulda been 1988.

1) 1991 Chevrolet S-10 - 1996 - 1998 - Wrecked :(
2) 1992 Chevrolet Scottsdale 1998 - 2000 - Sold
3) 1994 Chevrolet Silverado - 2000 - 2009 - Gave to FIL
4) 2005 Chevrolet Silverado - 2009 - Current

Yup, only 4 vehicles in 17 yrs. - all Chevy trucks. ;)

I don't know how I fit into this one.
I'm 6'4", but it was my first car, so I made myself fit.

When my MG was stolen, I bought this Wildcat convertible.

Then, when I saved up enough for a down payment, I bought this 1970 Plymouth GTX brand new. 4 speed pistol grip shifter with 375 horsies underhood.

No pictures handy.
1. A 1942 4 door studabaker commander. Dad had a 41, bought the 42 for backup parts. Didnt need any and gave it to me when I was 15.
2. A 1946 chev 4 door that I bought from a uncle for $65s
3. A 1950 Studebaker starlight coupe champion that I think I gave a $100s for.
4. A 1956 chev 210 coupe I paid $850s for in 1960. I came west in that one.
5. A 1951 2 door dodge coronet business coupe that I bought from another uncle for I think $65s.
6. A 1961 olsmobile dynamic 88 2 door coupe for about $1,200s
7. A 1965 Ford F-100 8 ft stepside. About $1400 in 1965.
8. A 1967 dodge monaco 500 2 door coupe in 1969, cant remember how much but it was a hot looking powerful car.
9. A 1964 oldsmobile starlight station wagon
10. A new 1972 datsun pickup
11. A 1964 cadillac coupe deville. Beautiful car I bought from a burbank cop for $500s. Later I got hit and ran with it in downtown LA by a couple drunks comeing out of a bar. GF and I chased them right throug town, on and off the freeway, boxed them up in a parking building, they smashed us deliberately a couple more times trying to get away in a parking building. It was pretty dramatic. You seen the same scene on police woman and other shows. She was driveing. I was a unwilling passenger. Finaly they spun out going to the next level and she t boned them! I grabbed up my model 60 and got them out of their car. The driver said hey maan, can we not settle this weeve out gawns? That was too much for me and I worked him over.
To make a long story short, he had warrents on him, after about 3 hours in downtown LA station, I was given my gun and ammo back and a ride back to the wrecked cad. I was lucky. Today they would have jacked the jail up and let her down on me. That was about 1973.
12. A 1976 trans am limited adition black with a gold chicken on the hood. That was just before smokey and the bandit come out. I cant help it if burt reynolds favored me.
Somehere there I also had a 92 lincoln Mark 1V? Really liked that one.

Florida guy, how in the world did you get into that midget? Take the seat out, saw a hole and sit in the trunk?
I once had a GF that died. She left me her car. It was I think, a 1978? Monte carlo with a sun roof etc. Only had a few miles on it for the age. I sold it to a guy for $500s down. He was suppose to pay me off in a few days. The next day he totaled it! I never could find him. It just dawned on me writeing this that I never deducted it on my taxs! It was a super hot looking car and she had just had it repainted to turquise.

Well I don't have any pics (not sure if cameras had been invented way back then. :D ) But here's my 3:

1. At the age of 16 (1960) I paid 30 dollars for a 1936 Ford Coupe. It was to be a "fixer-upper". It turned out to be a "just-be-happy-you-can-keep-it-running" kind of deal. It had "3-on-the-tree and the starter was on the floorboard just to the right of the gas pedal.

2. The following summer I got a 1951 Studebaker. not the fancy one but the low end model. Ugliest car I ever had. The front looked so much like the back that it was hard to tell if I was going forwards or backwards but it ran great. Paid 50 bux for it.

The following summer my Grandfather passed away and I got his 1954 Chevrolet 4-door sedan. This car really WAS my grandfathers car  Had aftermarket AC and ran so quiet you couldn't hear the motor standing right next to the car. I kept that until I left for the service a few months later. Sold it for 135 bux

Edit to add: Just glancing back it looks like my '36 Ford is the oldest thing that has been posted so far. Can nobody report owning a car any older than a 1936?

1985, Chevy C-30 Scottsdale. Lost it in a fire. Blue with a hint of rust.

1995, GMC Jimmy 4 door loved that little truck Red over Silver.

2005, GMC Sierra Z71, Ex-Cab. Red over Silver again not on purpose.

Its also not on purpose that they are all ten years newer than the previous one. Next I hope to get a 2015 F-150 LOL. YEAH RIGHT. Like I will ever be able to afford a new truck.

Your head must have been 2 feet above the top of the windscreen....

'71 Pinto Runabout 2000cc with 4speed. Shaved head and made the 2barrel non progressive. Way faster than stock.

'68 Polara 2dr 383 stock. Plenty fast.

'66 Galaxie Wagon 352. Slow but a good car for road trips as long as my friends chipped in.

All three got wrecked. I was never at fault. The worst was the wagon, it was given to me by my Mom. I got rear ended bad. I was doing 55 and the suicide hit me doing over a buck. It bent the car in half to the length of a Chevette, If I had been driving a smaller car I wouldn't be here to talk about it.
