My wife came home with the flu two weeks ago. Now I have it, it's no fun but the home made chicken soup is great. I hope it goes away soon.

Chicken soup? It couldn't hurt. :)

Actually it contains chemicals that have been shown in medical research studies to be beneficial to cold and flu sufferers. And anyway, hundreds of years of Jewish mothers can't be wrong.

Some "old wives' tales" arose because the old wives were pretty damn smart.

Italian mothers (and wives) too.

I just got hit with something this afternoon. hope it aint the flu. I seldom get sick.

When I got the flu a couple of years ago, my dad told me to put some Vicks Vap-O-Rub on the soles of my feet. I laughed, but he said he had heard it, and thought it silly too...until he tried it. I was so miserable, that I finally tried it. I don't know if it was my imagination, or if it really did do something, but I did feel better.

I had a stomach bug a few weeks back and gave serious thought to putting a television in the bathroom. It was the only place where I was able to sit for any length of time. I believe they call it "riding the porcelain bus".

Interesting! I never heard about salve on the soles of the feet before. If I dont straighten up by bed time I will give it a shot. Thanks!

I find that "the flu" is heavily overused to describe a wide variety of ailments that are in fact not the flu.

Regardless, I hope you feel better soon!

Put it on the soles of your feet or under your armpits-it's the camphor that you breath in that helps clear your lungs. Mom used to rub it on our chest when we were little.
Put a dab under your nose and you can't smell that dead body either :D

Just getting over it. Hit me in the middle of a trip to a workshop/conference. Made it into an unpleasant time. Started with fever and aches, then became a nasty head cold. Today is day eight and I finally feel ok again.

Riding the porcelain bus or hugging it? Sometimes it's both riding the porcelain bus and hugging the waste bucket?

The tv in the bathroom does sound good with a phone. I always hear the phone ring when im busy.

You can eat chicken soup and drink plenty of liquids and it will last about two weeks or you can do nothing and it will last about 14 day's.:)

I can't put my feet near my nose...which is usually a good thing.

I've always wondered if the person on the other end can hear the splashes and flushes...

I didnt have the flu. Remember that thread I started about hot cashews? Well last night I was hurting. I couldnt recall eating anything unusual UNTIL theresa asked me had I been in the jar of nuts. That rang a bell. I did pig out a little on them earlier. I have had them act that way before on me to a lesser extent. Anyway, okay now.
