Wow, that must have been a long time ago!

I can't remember when primers were that cheap, ever!

I don't know how long I have had them - found a few hundred in one of my ammo cans. They are No. 6 1/2-116 small rifle. I believe the first Winchester primers I bought were in yellow boxes - that would have been in the 50's.

I was just in my local reload shop last week and they were getting 5.00 per 100. Glad I have a few 1000, but they will be used quickly. CRAZY... These insane prices need to stop!!

I really don't remember what we paid for things in the 1960s. I do know we paid around $3/lb for powder in the early 1970s, which was about 1/2 hour's wages. I would suspect primers were in the $.45/100 range about that time.

Since I haven't work at an hourly rate for over 30 years, I don't know what hourly rates are now and how they compare with what we used to pay. After all, things were cheaper, because wages were also cheaper. ;)

Things may be looking up. On another forum a couple of gentlemen stated that Powder Valley had shipped them primers that were going for about 25.50 per thousand. That is a good bit better than the $70.00 per thousand I saw at the OGCA Show a week ago!!

Apparently, Powder Valley is filling some back orders (they had even quit listing primers as they were not getting deliveries). I'm hoping that the "Turn Around" is starting.
