The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Live)

Love old movie sound tracks. War of 1812 overture with real bells and cannon was one of my favorites. Setting back into my youth (71 now) and occasionally finding myself buying older movies on disk. Gettysburg with Jeff Daniels, and Last of the Mohicans have great sound tracks. Frank

It's funny looking back my mom thought the dollars movies were just way too violent at the time lol.I remember her talking about too much gun fighting hanging killing and not to mention some of those actresses might as well have been ( she would whisper this ) naked.Dad would just smile and yea you are right dear look at me and wink .I was getting ready to turn 16 and start driving ,dating ect he had given me the first part of " the talk" but as the big day approached he gave me the second part and slipped me something made of a stretchy material to protect myself and it wasn't a slingshot and said " son do you love your mom "? I of cours said yes sir . He said well don't let her find these but if she does you either bought em stole em or whatever but you did not get them from me then he told me some great hiding places and I was in the process of reassuring him that I was a " good boy ect ect " He said yea good boy but you have heard of the sex drugs and rock and roll generation right .I said yes sir he said well my generation trained them so don't bull jive me .He would have loved hanging out with you guys watching these old classics and listening to music talking cars guns women ect .And that's as high a compliment I can give you fellas .Thanks for posting great movies great music and great memories .

Ever better line from the same movie: When you have to shoot, shoot, don’t talk. Eli Wallach raises a supposedly black-powder Colt out of a bathtub for that one ... good luck getting that to fire in real life :)
I think the idea was that Tuco had the revolver dangling from that lanyard seen around his neck so that it was hidden by all the bubbles but held above the water line in the tub. Anyways, that's my take on the story ... :D

They carry cartridge conversions during the Civil War. An anachronism.

But the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was somewhat whimsical, so all is forgiven.

Oh yeah, the movie is definitely set in the Civil War but the revolvers all fire metallic cartridges. Historically-accuracy-wise, I would hold this movie to a fairly low standard, being made in Spain by Italians.

Oh yeah, nothing against Italians! It's just that they are probably not your go-to guys for American history. :D

A scene that made me laugh was the river bridge. On the far side was a big gun, like a 10" Dalgren. A navy gun. No army would be lugging one around.
