It came in today!

Well, I finally did it. I ordered a Henry pump action .22 S/L/LR (the one with the octagon barrel) last week and picked it up today. If I have time, I'll be taking it to the range this weekend to sight it in and take some pics.:D

My Henry is stiff, not too stiff, just stiff from being new. Every time I open the safe,I take the Henry out and cycle it a few dozen times. I figure eventually it will wear in.

My son does not like to shoot it because his arms get sore. He also has a habit of pulling back on the forend and it will stop the gun from firing, it is not an uncommon problem. Be sure to let us know how you like your new rifle.

Good luck with yours.

My father in law gave my son a Winchester 1890 takedown, which I believe to be made in 1898. Unfortunately, the barrel has been replaced as it is not an octagon barrel, and it is marked for .22lr. The action is .22 short only. I am guessing that the barrel came from a Winchester 1906. The finish is worn, even the finish on the replaced barrel matches. I doubt it is worth much in its present condition, but it is still shootable and my son enjoys it.
