No, California does not.Does CA have the 10# trigger requirement?

I forgot to add, I got this one at the same time because it will probably be the last Ruger I'll ever get:

Not as much as me. This is the first time I've bought a gun and been angry that I did it. More specifically, angry that I had to.
I have a Ca family member who bought a M&P9 last year with a 10lb trigger. The gun was new & tested with a Lyman.
Why are you disappointed with S&W for not giving into this bogus CA pressure? How many hoops should gun manufacturers succumb to because of ridiculous political agendas aimed at disarming you? Where would it stop if they did?
S&W did not put CA gun buyers in this situation. The CA citizens that elected the current manifest of left-wing legislators did this.
As someone who works for a FFL, I can tell you this happens all the time. As long as a gun can be legally sold in a state, it could show up, even though that particular state doesn't require that feature. My particular 40c came with a mag safety [gun won't fire w/o a mag] even though my state doesn't require it. GARYIt may well have been a Mass. compliant gun sold in Cali. A gun shop asks a distributer for a particular make and model and the distributer may or may not say: "I have one that's Mass. compliant, do you still want it?" The gun store may or may not know or care what that means, especially if the make and model is a hot item.
Happens all the time.
And you can replace the trigger spring.![]()
I believe you. That doesn't make it a law in CA. Neither does it mean it was originally intended for MA either. Could just be a poor job at S&W. The M&P trigger is its weak point. With a better trigger it would probably push Glock off the map.I have a Ca family member who bought a M&P9 last year with a 10lb trigger. The gun was new & tested with a Lyman.
Thanks. I just got out to shoot it today. It's a nice shooter too. I've wanted both of these for a long time. I'm glad I had the savings to get them, but mad as hell that I had to now.Man that's a nice looking gun Rastoff.
"Miracle" seems like an overstatement. Smith & Wesson could just comply with the CA law. It appears that for less than $1/gun (or some similar small amount) they could meet the requirement. I am pretty disappointed in S&W that they have adopted this position and put CA gun buyers in this situation. My experience with S&W has been that they have great customer service; but, to stop selling guns to CA over an ideological objection has really tarnished their reputation.
