The "Lay down and die syndrome"

It also depends on how someone reacts to seeing their own blood. I worked with a guy who cut his hand. At the sight of the blood he got very woozy and almost passed out. He was a big strong kid. I had to drive him to the doctors to get it checked out. I've cut myself far worse, and kept working.
I could see if someone got shot, they might freak out and faint while others wouldn't even slow down.
 
You won't know how you will react until it happens to you, hopefully never. Adrenaline, your response to stress, blood, the fact you shot someone etc... all have effects and cause everyone to react differently to each scenario. We can only prepare ourselves to an extent.
