Got the rider and push mower out of storage this morning. Changed the oil filled the tanks and started the non-stop ritual known as lawn care. Sure makes me glad I used Sta-Bil last fall. Don't know what I'll do when Jr. goes off to college this year, may have to sub the work out!

Here in Florida, the Bahia doesn't start to grow 'til after the middle of April. Stays green all winter but goes dormant from October to April. Haven't needed to mow yet.

still wet and muddy around here. be a month or more before the cutting starts. Instead of the riding mower I should have gotten a couple of goats. Grass feed all summer and goat meat for the winter.

I hired a lawn service to do ours and our daughter's lawn, as she just lives two doors down from us. Gives me lots more time for shooting and other fun stuff.

The wife takes care of the landscaping, but I help her if she needs it. Most shrub, bushes, and the hedge trimming is farmed out.

I've my lawn once this year, it's been raining too hard for a week or so to even think about it again. I overseeded and repaired some mole damage this spring, so we should have a good lawn come BBQ time!

Mowing here in Kentucky today.

Mower in better shape after winter than me.

Mower started on first pull.

I am mowing less before taking a break than last fall.

Will get into shape after a few long walks behind the mower.

I hate mowing grass. I made a deal with the wife...I mow she does everything else...trims, edges, weed control, plants all her own flowers, rakes leaves. I never did like yard work. I'm supposed to be mowing the yard right now but she's gone and won't be back till tomorrow so me and the cats are watching old movies and making beef jerky. Guess I better go do the front yard at least, I do have good intentions of getting it done.

I've had to mow the yard two time already this year. One of the neighbors is all upset with his still brown yard. I told him to get rid of the Bermuda grass, it ain't a dang golf course.

I cut mine for the third time last week. An unexpected frost last week slowed things down for a day or two but the grass is growing again.

After the winter storms we still have a couple weekends of picking up sticks before we think about mowing.

Mowed last week and it needs it again already. I guess it's better than shoveling snow. Although I might not think so in a few weeks when it's 105° with 80% humidity.

I've already begun the war on corkscrews and foxtails. Gonna be a bumper crop this year.

Cut it once this year already. Started out to do it again yesterday and the weed eater wouldn't run. Decided to forgo that and just cut the grass and ran over a danged 'ol concrete paver and tore up a blade. Had to quit working on the lawn so I just went fishing instead. hate it when that happens. Went to the big hardware chain today and got a replacement blade and a new trimmer.
