Although I don't agree with bobbing the hammer and cutting the trigger guard, I understand the reasoning for them. But why shorter the ejector rod? One of the few things I have against short-barreled pistols is that they, by necessity, have short ejector rods, and don't always fully eject empties. And you deliberately shorten the ejector stroke by a quarter of an inch or so. Why?

I really like how that "bright hard chrome" turned out. That looks much more like nickel than I thought possible for hard chrome.

That one nice Fitz Special. Have wanted to get one for years, but I know that I wouldn't pay the price for an "original" Fitz.

Guess I'll have to find a beater Colt and attempt to make one for myself.

Very nice.

I had what I thought was a Detective Special, didn't shoot worth a darn. Turns out it was a 1910 vintage Police Positive frame someone rounded the butt on and installed a new(er) Detective Special barrel.

Should have kept it and Fitz'ed it....

Very cool. I too would like to Fitz a Colt 45 my self. I won't go hog wild and cut the trigger guard. My do a S&W 45 too. Which every it is it must be a real beater.
