I've been using optics a long time, and for me the best reticle of all the available options is the ACSS Vulcan in green (green provides better clarity, especially for those with astigmatism). This reticle is available on several Holosun models, and one of my favorites is the "K" (smaller size) version of their 507 model -- attached photo shows the HS507K-X2 ACSS Vulcan on my 617, which is an awesome setup.
Generally, Holosun provides the best combination of quality and price -- along with exclusivity of the ACSS Vulcan reticle (which is shared only with a few Primary Arms optics).
The 507K ACSS Vulcan is about $300.
Specific to the Mk IV, I have a 22/45 variant upon which I've installed an Aimpoint T-2. If you're going with a (color) red optic, Aimpoint's are the most "crisp," although Trijicon is a close second. Either of these offer dots which are better defined -- and remain so, even after punishing recoil of a 500 S&W -- although on a 22LR it could be argued there's little need for a "super tough" optic. Still, I chose to go with the T-2 because I was tired of being disappointed in the sloppy dots from other optics. Sure, a Holosun would have been a good choice, but not as good as the Aimpoint (and by some margin).
The T-2 is $600+... does it make sense having an optic that cost more than the gun upon which it sits? All I will say is try one, and then decide for yourself. For me, my Mk IV 22/45 is upgraded with Volquartsen and TandemKross parts, and having the the best optic known to mankind was worth it.
