The Masters was held Aug 7 to 9 this year again for the 29th year. I have been there for every one of them. As SWIowegan mentioned the match as dwindled down to it being basically a family reunion type match. We shot 36 entries this year, about the lowest ever. The match is still as tough as ever, but naturally Doug Koenig won it again. His time in the action event was 21.2 seconds, (that's the total of 9 runs at 5 falling plates each run). The most difficult match is the precision event, 45 shots at biathlon targets set at 25 and 50 meters with the target area varying from 4.5" to 1.7" . The average good precision score is in the mid 20's, and Doug shot a 37. The runs are all under various time frames and are shot one handed bullseye style. Then there is the long range event, targets are steel from 50 meters to 200 meters and range from 6" to 12" in size. All shot under tight time frames, and the last stage shot standing. I don't recall what Doug shot this year but his record is 42 out of 45 possible. Most of the participants who still come have been coming for over 20 years. The cost to put the match on has been exceeding the entry fees the last several years, and I don't know how much longer it will exist. It takes specialized guns and a lot of practice to compete. It is always held the first Wed. thru Sat. of August.
If anyone would want more information I could get it.
