I'm enjoying this thread. I recently stumbled onto an excellent condition, 3", 625-3, while in an area shop for the first time. Gave them some money and hope to get it in a few days.

I love my 1911 and the .45ACP round. Seems like a natural addition to my modest S&W revolver collection. Can't wait to get it home.

That is pretty much my rational. I am all 1911. I run 45acp like water. I like the revolver / DA experience without having to support a different caliber. I have a 625JM, a 325 Thunder Ranch, and just picked up a Lew Horton 25-14 NIB with 3" barrel.

Pics soon.

Regards,
Greyson

I have three in the -4 configuration, all .45 ACP. They are 3" full lug (my favorite and the one that shoots EVERYTHING well), 4" Springfield Armory Commemorative Mountain Gun and custom 2" hybrid.

Here's a couple of mine - First, a custom Model of 1988. 5" barrel, red ramp front, Ahrends stocks, and a primo action job by Nelson Ford. This is without a doubt the smoothest-working double action I own. I normally am not good at DA work, but with this one, I'm pretty darn decent. The 625-6 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt is similarly customized; it's as fine a field gun as I can imagine.

Lew Horton. Just picked it up. NIB. 25-14. Not a huge fan of the nickel, but you take what you can get.

And look at this. They only made 250 of these. Well....I got number 200 by accident! Pretty good for a CCW piece to know your serial numbers.

My Model of 1988 625-2

I had wanted one of these for over 20 years, and finally got one last week. I posted pictures of it before, but since this an appreciation thread, here it is again. I plan to put a factory red ramp front sight on it along with a white outline rear sight.
