the most dangerous safety in the world is the RETARTED clip safety.. the one where the gun won't fire unless there is a clip in it. It makes it so that you can not dry fire it after cleaning it unless you put a clip in it. I have had several incidents where I have to unload a clip just to test it.how many people keep there clips loaded? I'm willing to bet that ALOT of accidental discharge's happen because of this ignorant feature. well, now I have that off my chest. what do you think? does any one have an example where this has been an asset? first hand only please, no friend of a friend or something you read. I want to hear first hand knowledge of this being of some use.

tomato, tomauto as far as I am concerned. I am young, and I say clip. I am also a gunsmith and own my own business, with an ffl before you accuse me of being young and DUMB. lol.

I'm no fan of magazine safeties either but usually they're easy to disable.

We have a winner...

It took me ten minutes and a pair of needlenose pliers to remove the mag safety on my carry gun. Completely reversible.

Do you know of any cases? To use your words,
first hand only please, no friend of a friend or something you read. I want to hear first hand knowledge of this

I don't particularly care for magazine disconnectors, but anyone who would put a mag into a pistol, drop the slide and watch it chamber a round and then pull the trigger, can hardly blame the discharge on the magazine disconnector.

Personally, I think that a mag disconnector is a legitimate safety device whose safety features are ordinarily achieved by other means, and that it has operational drawbacks which cause most careful people to reject it. I don't believe that it creates any new safety problems.

You also say "retarted."

Both are wrong. Do you call cartridges "bullets" and bullets "heads?" Hint: That's not being "young;" it's being lazy, ignorant or both.

If you are, indeed, a gunsmith, you should be able to remove a magazine safety without difficulty.
