Hi guys, it's been awhile.
Last month I attended the gun show in Kansas City.( Missouri Valley Arms Collectirs .) My buddy Tom found the nicest Lawrence rig I had ever seen. He knows I like gun leather and offered it to me. I couldn't get my money out fast enough!
It's a beautiful pre-war laced and floral carved Geatge Lawrence holster and cartridge belt with the Steerhude football logo in almost unused condition It will fit a number of S&W's and Colts with 6" barrels including I believe a .45 Auto. Enjoy the photos.
Bill

Bill I agree, one of the most beautiful leather carved I've ever seen. The Lawrence factory staff knew their job.
Thanks for sharing.
The photos shows mine for OD 38/44.
Bill to be fair, I recognize the work on your holster as much nicer than the one on mine. The flower above the loop is absolutely beautiful, unlike mine. You own an awesome rig.

Lawrence made some fine looking rigs. This one fits an Outdoorsman as well.

Regards,

My pre war Lawrence rig has a gold plated buckle. Was that an option you could order? Has anyone seen a gold buckle on a Lawrence cartridge belt. Turnriver has seen a lot more than I have. What do you think John ?

Dear Bill,
I've focused solely on Heiser holsters.
I'd like to slowly collect all the series in their different versions: plain smooth, basket stamped, and floral carved.
So I was forced to leave the other manufacturers alone.
But your outfit with the golden buckle really makes my head spin.

Is it gold, or brass? In the 80's I worked in a gun store that ordered a lot of Lawrence holsters. That was part of my duties. There were some belts that had the option of brass or nickel buckles.

Lawrence would do anything you wanted if they could. I know I have some brass and some nickel buckles but doubt any are plated. I'll take a look in some pre-war catalogs and see if any mention is made of upgraded buckles.
