Having been aggressively bombarded by Bloomberg ads on television, and having less time than adequate to respond to anti-gun propaganda in forums and law proposals at capitals; I have been inspired to do something creative instead of feeling helpless.

Now, every time I see an assault on the 2nd amendment that I do not respond to, I will make a donation to the NRA. It gives me a choice, and I can now actually say I am doing something about everything I see.

I can respond to an anti-gun post I read, contact a representative about an anti-gun law, show up in person, or send in a donation once a week/month/whatever for all of the assaults I see that I didn't respond to over that time period - including anti-gun commercials paid for by Mayors that have been convicted of gun crimes.

One of the other things I can do is post this same plan in anti-gun forums or news responses, and after that tell them that "The NRA thanks you for your anti-gun post" if I don't have time for a back-and-forth argument. I also encourage active countering, but again, none of us have the time or patience to counter everything we come across.

I would encourage anyone else that is financially able to do the same thing. I know that times are tough, so the donation amount per negative action can be small, (it doesn't have to be dollars per action, any amount will do, as long as you do it for every negative action you do not counter) just keep track of them and send in a donation on whatever schedule you can. Tell them what it is for too, maybe they can use that information in one of their ads to let the anti's know that everything they do actually helps.

Any suggestions or criticisms are welcome, as this just hit me as I was getting the mail; and I may have missed other plans already posted, or may have missed something obvious that would help more.
