I used my Winchester Model 1893 for many years, as did my father and, before him, my grandfather. It was only a few years ago that I discovered it was actually a 93, which is a black powder only frame. It has been retired until I load some black powder shells. I do, however, frequently shoot a 1911 made in 1914. It is from the first production run of 1911s by the US Armory at Springfield, still a good shooter, and in great condition. I sometimes shoot my 1881 Marlin in 45-70, a good old shooter. Still have a few Trapdoors, but haven't shot them since the 1960s.
