The pinnacle of the PC, a .45 Target Champion

I thought Eroc was using the term bullseye accuracy to mean 25 and 50 yard accuracy not actual bullseye events. I agree that the .45 has enjoyed a long time record in that sport, but partly because the rules dictate a 45 cal for the one match and most shooters don't bother with another gun and ammo for centerfire.

I understand that since Berettas/9mm and now other guns have been approved for the service gun match( PPC 9 included) its takes higher scores to get leg points. At least that what I read in comments on the bullseye forum a year or so ago.

I think that before the Police Nationals started having an open 1500 semiauto event the 9mm wasn't considered as something you wanted to shoot 50 yards with. When that event was announced there was a scramble to try and find guns to shoot. Since a lot of police were carrying 9mm, thats what most of us wanted to shoot. Some had 1911s built if you had the money. Then S/W came out with the PPC9 from the Targetmaster being sent to Germany or wherever Wischo is located. A few years later Springfield and others were building competition guns. All of these guns were built to hold X ring on a PPC target(B27) oval but slightly smaller than a 50 yd slow fire 10 ring.

I have never reloaded a round in my life (very lucky) .All the PC 9s I have owned, shot,or seen shot, with other teammates performed extremely well with standard factory ammo. Especially at 25 yards and shorter distances. We shot Winchester white box 147 TCMC, and HP. Some guys used 115 ball at 25 yards and in. Same stuff you used to get at Walmart for 10 bucks or 12 a box. Other teams shot Federal,Remington and Speer with the same results. I dont know how foreign or other ammo would perform.

I just wanted to put out this information/experience so someone doesn't pass on one of these guns because they think they have to reload to get them to shoot. That wasn't my experience. The older PPC 9s shot lighter 115 gr better than 147. The 6 inch guns we had shot heavier bullets better. I think they changed twist rate as LE preference went from lighter bullets to heavier.
I don't have 50 yard groups for the PC guns, the test targets for them are 25 yds. The one I shot off a barricade when I bought the gun just to see how it grouped. It would probably shoot better, but those are the only 6 rounds I have ever shot out of it. The older PPC 9 was my wifes gun. It grouped better than my gun so when she stopped shooting I kept it and sold the one I had. The PC guns seem to settle in and shoot better than their test targets after about 500 rounds or so.
As with everything people have their preference and experience and that's how it should be.

I certainly love mine, I’ve got four PC i 9mm and four in .45.

It’ll be a few years yet before I can consider retirement, but getting my PC 9’s to do what my PC .45’s do always is absolutely a goal I’ve dreamt of!

I had my 845 to the range yesterday , I forgot how well it shoots . Of course the first shot was a double tap , forgot about that trigger . These guns are the pinnacle of the old PC shop , at least in my opinion . I have a nib IDPA 5in 5906 , but that will never be shot . The letters I've read state only 19 made , so I'll never be able to give a range report . But really , all my PC shooters are just a dream . Anyone I let shoot them can't believe what they can wring out of one .
