Well it is definitely that time of the year. Doe season for the bucks .The deer are really getting into the rut here. I am at the point of not driving at night. Had to go to the auto repair shop to get my truck about 4 PM. In the 18 miles there..part in town...I saw 17 dead deer...5 vehicles awaiting towing with front end damage. This morning there were 5 bucks in the backyard doing some serious fighting over 4 doe...Even one little maybe 10 inch spike getting his butt kicked...even by the doe I think. Ol big buck was taking care of business and being run ragged.. That's it...I ain't driving cept in the middle of the day...when I can see....may shoot me a nice fat doe though..near the end of the month...You can go out in the yard and smell those darn bucks

I looked out my back doors to the deck to see what Angel was creeping on out back. To video what we were watching would be considered creepy. He was one of the smaller bucks I've seen lately, but he got lucky! More deer up here than rabbits!
GO STEELERS!!!!

Pittsburgh deer

Obligatory pictures of a couple of our pets. That buck has been on here before but he’s pretty cool for a city slicker. If I are remember correctly there was his doe over by the shed. They were a nice couple!

We went to Danbury CT yesterday. The were splats on I-84 both ways. Had to be at least 10 in each direction.

Last Saturday we had a deer vs. car call. Big 6 point buck. The driver was ok. The buck was not. Neither was the car. Minor damage but the airbags deployed. It was a 2018 Chevy Equinox in good shape. I bet it will be totalled due to the cost of airbag replacement.

I quit riding motorcycles the first of November. I drive the Wrangler the most this time of year. It’d be a lot cheaper to fix than the Mustang or the Ram 1500.

Last week saw 10 dead on side ofI-95 in S.C. Another 8 before getting to Raleigh area. This week saw 10 more along I-16 in Ga.
Buck mount is nice to hang on ones wall but young doe meat is hard to beat for eating.

Shot a lot of deer...a LOT. Never really cared to shoot a big buck. This time of the year they get pretty bad smelling and it's hard to dress them without getting their musk on you and then on them. . And truly the doe are more tender for eating. Not that I haven't had some good meat from bucks too. Back in Md if you shot everything in the right order in the right season you could shoot more than 20 some years. Shot deer on crop damage permits for local farmers too. It was pretty much just killing though...I guess that's why they hired me!
