The Slide Fire Stock

We bought a pair of the M&P 15-22's on Presidents day; son-in-law already had the Slide Fire stock for his 223. After polishing the trigger group and installing the yellow springs he has been able to dump several full 25 round mags using cheap bulk pack ammo. It does take some practice to get the technique down. I have tried it a couple of times but have not been able to get more than a few short burst out of his gun.

Plus I have had too much fun shooting mine while getting it sighted in with the factory sights and adding a Red Dot sight. Note to self Buy more magazines.

lol, looks like he might have been wrong! that sure worked fine for them! I like how the local Deputy was looking like, that thing a full auto?? lol
I still think they are gonna be banned, ATF is bound to get their panties in a bunch over them eventually.

Looks like the BATF has already been all over it...

Silly question - searched but couldn't find the answer: does the Slide Fire stock work on the M&P 15-22 MOE? The reason I ask about that is that the MOE has a QD Sling Swivel that looks like it could get in the way of the stock movement.

Thanks.

Yes you are right about this. I have the slide stock on my moe and I had to remove the swivel mounts because the stock would just touch them at the stocks forward most sliding point.

Can anyone confirm the trigger weight of the RRA Stage 2 NM trigger? I've heard 3.5 from some sources and 4-5 from others....

Has anyone had 'mag dump' success with only the RRA trigger and no other modifications?

Also, the lighter firing pin spring mentioned on page 2 - is there a specific size to look for, or do the bulk spring packs from hardware stores usually have one that will work?

Thanks

Thanks for the information.

Was this an easy thing to do? Just unscrew and remove?

Thanks,
Mike

I now have about 2000 rounds through my M&P15-22 using the slide fire stock. The trigger is getting smoother and I am now able to control the rate of fire by holding the hand guard and applying various amounts of forward pressure.

How often/how long are you guys letting your barrel cool down?

When I get tired of loading it lol. When I got my drum I fired 250 rounds as fast as I could load it. I still could touch the barrel but only for a second or so.

Has this happened to anyone using Slide Fire Stock?

I recently installed the Slide Fire Stock and have shot ~500 rounds. Yesterday I noticed an object on the ground where I shoot. It turned out to be the dust cap that sits in the end of the buffer tube. Was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them.

Mine falls off sometimes when I remove the stock.

what cap? I don't see no cap on my buffer tube. Anyone got a picture of the cap on the buffer tube?

Got my Slide Fire Today, I all ready installed JP Yellow Springs, which have worked well without slide fire, maybe 1 or 2 ftf's per 100 rounds, I tried to polish the catch on my trigger, but only had some cheap metal polishing crayon type stuff I got from home depot, rubbed it on there and dry fired (catching it of course) for an hour or so. I lubed up the springs, the catch, and even some dry lube on the slide fire. I can only get spuratic 3-10rd bursts. What am I doing wrong.....is there anything I can do to avoid spending another $200 on a friggin timney trigger?

I feel like the biggest problem is the trigger is not reseting, I used both CCI mini mags and federal bulk ammo.
