The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers well guarded

I saw an similar article on another news website that stated that the guards are planning to stay on guard during hurricane Sandy.

That's the standard. Not the exception-and as they are on guard-there are troops on patrol in the snow and heat-duty bound-

From the Tomb - Oct. 30, 2012.

This picture was purported to be taken during Hurricane Sandy. The guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns have been performing their duty 24 hours a day since 1937. Hurricane Sandy had no effect on that spotless record. It turns out this picture was taken in September; it has no bearing on the fact that these soldiers remained on duty through the storm in much more severe weather than the picture shows..

God bless them and keep them safe.

John

Instances like this remind us how great our country really is.

There is no limit to their devotion to duty. And those at rest there deserve nothing less.

I have the changing of the guard on tape and, if you have never seen it live all I can say is it is one of the most awe inspiring soul stirring scenes you will ever witness in your life. Of all the tapes I have that is one that I hope nothing ever happens to.

I saw or read an article that stated the code of conduct for those who are stationed at the Tomb. Don't know if it was correct, but their code of conduct goes way beyond normal military regulations. They just about give up their own personalities to gaurd the Tomb.....That is dedication first rate.....God Bless our Military, and God Bless our Country.......Our best, our bravest, and se3ems to be our most loyal to our founding pricipals........
