The virtual wall

I have noticed this subject was posted prior, sorry for the double post. Two of the names are brothers of coworkers one a KIA and one an MIA.

Post it

It needs to be posted from time to time for alot of reasons, but especially because there is healing for those of us who have brothers on that wall. After it was first erected, I couldn't even look at it on tv; it just wasn't ready. A few years later when visiting family in the AD.C. area, and touring the monument area, they let me out in front of the Lincoln Memorial by my self, and I walked over, but could not look for names, and it was pretty much an emotional blowout, but it was progress in the right direction. Many years went by, and the traveling wall visited near by, and I was able, with help and preparation, to look up and find all of the names I had at that point. It is kind of strange to realize that there were others there I was un-aware of at the time. Anyway, it wasn't easy, but it was good. Some kinds of healing require an emotional/psychological/Spiritual opperation. There is pain when the procedure begins, like natural opperations, but then the healing can begin, and that makes it worth while. Flapjack.

It's different for everybody who was there or how they were touched by it. As another thread has stated that this weekend is for "us". First I heard of it. Nice to know there
will be some folks somewhere who acknowledge our dedication and service. "All gave some, some gave all".

I've been to the "wall" twice and it's not easy to do. If you've never been there yet know a name, do it.

I couldn't do it when I was in DC. I also failed when it was displayed locally. Some day maybe.

My Granddaughter made the trip to the Wall in DC for me and got rubbings.

It was a Class trip, and the teacher who took the class to DC promised me that they would stay at the Wall as long as it took my GD to get the Rubbings and they did.

My friend, USAF Major James Crew, shot down over North Vietnam on Nov. 10, 1967. He remains missing to this day but has been officially declared dead. I salute him and may the Good Lord keep him safe! Thanks for the post "Coldshooter"!

James Crew, MAJ, Air Force, Windber PA, 04Dec78 29E066 - The Virtual Wall®

P.S. What isn't reported in the article is this - Jimmy's chute was spotted fully deployed after the aircraft went down.
