For all of you zombie story fans, AMC's new series The Walking Dead will air on Sunday at 9:00 pm Central. The story is about a comatose county Sheriff who wakes up to find the world of a zombie apocalypse. What is the interest with all the vampires (Twilight, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries) and zombies on TV (other than the usual pre-Halloween fare)?
Note: One of the promo pictures looks like the main character, Sheriff Rick Grimes, is pointing a 6 inch Colt Python.

I'm all over this one.....

Gonna clean AR's (my go to Zombie zapper) and load mags during commercials.

I'm thinking the KelTec PM30 pistol will be the new Zombie-BUG
30 rds of 22Mag for that close up work!

Very few TV shows get my attention, but this one looks like it might be pretty decent. I'll be tuning in.

I don't know if you guys are aware, but this is a Graphic Novel. I've been following it for about 3.5 - 4 years. It's a really interesting story...while it does follow some "normal" zombie storylines, it also has a unique twist here and there. I'm curious to see if they'll follow the graphic novel scene-for-scene, or if they'll mix it up a little to keep the readers interested.

I can't say if there was a Python used or not...there wasn't too much detail on the specific weapons...just a shotgun (semi-auto, I think) a bolt rifle or two, and a bunch of generic looking semi-auto handguns. The "hero" may have had a Python, but I don't think he keeps it long...it seems most everyone ends up with higher capacity/quicker reloading semi-autos. Also...there is a larger use of "unlimited ammo/stealth" weapons...like hatchets, swords, etc. Of course, I'm speaking entirely of the graphic novel, who knows what the show may be like. I'm sure the firearms will be more recognizable than in the books.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this, and burning it onto DVDs for many future viewings...if it's as good as I'm hoping.

Really looking forward to this on Halloween night. Watched some clips on AMC's website. Definitely a 6" stainless Python.

It's actually a relatively small part of the brain that has to be destroyed in order to instantly shut down all motor functions. It's about the size of a dime. You can find some specialty targets, made for police designated marksmen, that highlight the spot. Thus if there really were zombies, even many head shots wouldn't necessarily work.

Now what you really need is a good flanged mace. M4 clones are so last Tuesday.

Just google it and you can read a summary of what's already happened in the comics.

I'm thinking most high velocity rifle bullets would turn the brain to jelly, direct hit to vital area or not.....dead zombie! ;)

All.
Some of us know the "Walking Dead" as 1st Battalion. 9th Marines.

Sir, that was my first thought as well. Our company gunny was with 1/9 when they earned that name.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.
