The worst car insurance companies

I was with State Farm for decades. I had to leave them because they couldn't sell me what I needed. Went to the Lizard until they jacked me up 40%. Now I'm with Allstate. The only claims I've ever had were with State Farm and they were great. I hope I never find out how good (or bad) Allstate is on claims.

Progressive Insurance is owned by its shareholders. The company is traded on the NYSE under the ticker symbol "PGR." The Vanguard Group and BlackRock Inc. are Progressive's largest shareholders, followed by Wellington Management Group, State Street Corporation, and JPMorgan Chase & Company.

I'm going to hazard I am an unfortunate believer in an urban myth about Soros owning Progressive. Serves me right for not looking it up.

However, if you look up a list of Progressive Insurance "charitable" donations it is unlikely to match any list you might maintain (putting it mildly).

Thanks Rusty for the correction.

Costco insurance has been easy to deal with the claims we have had in the last 20 years.
Montana's constitution is heavily slanted towards individual rights. As a Montanan we can choose who we want to have repair our vehicles, regardless of whatever insurance company's wish.

USAA has been my insurance company since 1967. That's 57 years without any issues. However, I will admit, I've had very few claims and never an at fault claim.
Now, my kids have USAA.

I'm on another forum that is heavily populated with current and prior service folks; USAA has started to get a real bad reputation. I was added to my parent's State Farm policy in the 70s, and kept it all this time. It's a good policy that is not replaceable.

Never had Car Insurance with anybody but USAA.
Never had a problem, but only have filed a few claims in many years.
Like when my Wife's Datsun 240 was stolen in Vegas.
The Deputy say, it'll either show up out in the desert stripped or you'll never see it again.
It was option 2.
I bought that car in Okinawa for a really good price, so we made a profit with the payoff.
That really didn't satisfy my Bride, she wanted her car back!
