YouTube - Cleopatra - Trevor Jones

I stumbled across this while looking for something else, and was reminded what powerful, wonderful, totally suitable theme music it is.

This is for the TV movie, starring Timothy Dalton as Julius Caesar and Chilean actress Leonor Varela as the tragic Queen of the Nile.

The images in the video are wider than they should be, but the musical quality is fine.

Did anyone else here see the movie? Did you like it?

I think it was one of the best TV movies that I've seen, and I like these sweeping historical epics.

Trevor Jones is quite talented. He also did some arranging and adaptation for "Last of the Mohicans". There are definite similarities in the scores.

What I recall about the Liz Taylor version of the movie Cleopatra, was all the teenage girls twenty minutes after the film was released trying to duplicating her eye make up! That was just after the fad of teenage girls all wanting to wear "Ben Casey" blouses? Fortunately for western civilization, the girls settled on wearing skirts that were too short instead!
