Sorry to hear that, as turnerriver mentioned he did address the SWCA in Boise and it was great to hear his stories of his father. As I recall the following day he suffered a heart attack. I was thrilled to meet him and hear his family stories. RIP Mr. Keith.
 
I remember reading his dads books growing up. I can't imagine living with a legend, it must have been quite a life. I would have loved to hear him speak. Hopefully he and Elmer are reunited in a better place.

I'll bet his young life was interesting. Pack string work etc. As a young man he was a smoke jumper according to EMK. I wonder if he worked for the Forrest Service? I never knew anything of his later adult life. May he rest in peace.

IIRC, Elmer wrote that Ted carried a Ruger Bearcat when he jumped.

Didn't Elmer die at 84? Ted came very close. He'd have been 84 in a few months.
