I have not posted in a while but had to show this one off. It is a 2nd model Hand Ejector in 44 Special. It is in amazing condition. The previous owner bought it used in 1959 and paid $55 for it! I wonder if the seller was asking $60. The grips match. It is one of the best condition 44 specials in my collection.

Congratulations!
That's an OUTSTANDING revolver and in .44 Special - extra special!
I've always liked the .44 Spl. and managed to snag a 624 in 6" several years ago. With Elmer's bullet and Unique or 2400, I'm set for near 'bout anything!

An awful lot of folks consider the .44 Specialist about the most perfect caliber. I can't disagree but my experience with it is kinda limited. The only revolvers I own in that caliber are a Charter Arms Bulldog and a Colt New Frontier .44-40/.44 Special convertible.

I have .44 Magnums but no others chambered for the .44 Special.

44 Special is my favorite revolver caliber. I have two 44 Magnums and shoot mainly 44 Special in them. 44 Special only revolvers are difficult to find at a reasonable price where I live.

44 Specials are one of those mystical "just right" cartridges. My buddy, Frank Nowakowski turned me on to them back in the 90's when we both started to seriously persue S&W's. On the forum he was Frank 237 and I'm sure some of you remember him. He and I were like brothers and were each other's "Smith & Wesson help hot line" when each of us were contemplating a trade or new acquisition. He passed on New Years eve after a long struggle with a rare brain cancer. Sorry to get carried away here, but without him I would never have gotten into 44 Specials. Enjoy your fine revolver, Sir! It will give you much pleasure everytime you handle or shoot it.

Agreed. My quest started with 6 loaded cartridges that were in my safe. Don't know where they came from, but I needed a revolver to shoot them from. I love my 44 Specials/

First was a 2nd model with cokes.

Then came a triple lock, a find I never expected.

Then a renickeled 3rd model.

And finally, so far, a 4th model target.

Beautiful!
No collectors here, but my 69 with "special" handholds is just the ticket! A very underrated cartridge. I've seen no need for the .44 Magnum since I left Alaska, and don't know that it was "needed" there if one rolls there own. But . . ..

In 1959 I was driving Tonka trucks up the dirt hill in the back of our house.. sure wish I'd been buyin' 44s.

I'm pretty sure I was still peeing in my diapers in 1959! But I have grown to love a 44 special anything. So far I'm only the caretaker of a S&W 696, a Blackhawk Flattop and a first year Charter Arms Bulldog in 44 special. A 624 was on my Xmas list to Santa, but he only brought me a lump of coal.........
