They bought a blender. Three weeks later, their cats continue to hold it hostage.

Just keep in mind that EVERYTHING is a cat toy!!!

I bought my evil feral cat R.I.P. every cat toy I saw.

This piece of pipe insulation was the only thing she ever played with.

If the cats knew what was in the box and what it does they may find another perch.

What a helpless bunch of snowflakes. I'd never leave the house if I had to ask for help with a problem like that. There's something wrong when your cats are running your life.
LOL! They're just playing it up for the entertainment value. I PDF'd the WaPo article before it got locked down and in it they said:
The truth is, the couple says, this could be easily resolved. The cats are not particularly heavy. But they are having fun, the cats are having fun, the Internet is having fun, and people — pushed back into their houses and masks after two years of a pandemic — need fun right now. Many of the comments on Jessica's posts express the need for something bright during the dark omicron days.
We dedicated, long-suffering cat own.... "support staff" have long realized that our cats are actually in charge.

"Give me liberty or give me..... Oh, just a minute. The the d****d cat's thrown up..."

My granddaughter wanted me to take her fishing. She had a little toy rod & reel with a rubber fish on the line. I said I'd take her cat fishing. We'd cast the little fish across the room and slowly reel it in, waiting for her cat to jump out from under the sofa to catch it. It would fight to keep the fish as she reeled it in. Then we'd start all over.

The cat loved it, the granddaughter loved it, and I loved it.

I still remember laughing in a recent cat 'marathon'/thread on this Forum about the poster who could not leave a piece of buttered toast unsupervised because his cats would eat it...

I knew one day I'd find the purpose for the laser on my SIG....
A red laser pointer was how I befriended my black cat, Smudge, when he was a tiny kitten living in my neighbor's barn. 6 1/2 years later, he still loves chasing it.

Thus definitively proving what every cat own...um... person learns: Commercial cat toys are a load of hooey to get you to part with your money. Early on, my gf (she of the "mega-moggies" Izzie and Charlie, now well known on The Lounge) bought some battery powered automated red dot thingy which a) ate batteries and b) never worked properly. Now, wiser and poorer, Amazon boxes (which come free with every purchase ) are "the thing." Also, especially for Charlie-of-epic-whiskers, a piece of plain brown wrapping paper is curiously attractive, as he will go and sit on it, for reasons known only to himself.

ps- Love your "evil feral cat" :)
