They say confession is good for the soul,so in order to cleans my soul I have an confession.
Over the last month or so I have purchased five new handguns.(Winter blues) I will finally be able to pick them up this weekend due to paperwork and work travel. I will post pictures then.

Ok I feel better, this is what I got:

S&W Pre Mdl.10,MP,Blued, 5 screw, 6in barrel

S&W Pre Mdl.10, MP,Nickel, 5 screw, 6in barrel (may be a re- nickel?)

S&W Mdl 15,blued, 5 in barrel, Goofy custom grips but I found a great looking pair of Ahrends Retro Combat in Moradillo to fix that from another member of this fourm.
All the S&W are tight with no end shake, the finish on the 15 is about 95% and the MP Nickel 90%, the blued MP about 80%.
They are all dirty as heck but not abused and from the same source, probably owned by an older LEO who recently passed or so the story goes....with S&H and FFL fees I paid around $1100.00 for the lot.

Also go me a :

Beretta 92FS, CIA import, made in Italy, military sights, I think they call them M1 sights?
A little banged up with ugly CIA imprint but tight and clean...$360.00 Should make a good shooter or home defense piece.

And finally:
Beretta U22 Neos, 22 cal, two tone with 6 in barrel, NIB, $240.00

So don't tell my two sons or my son in law until I have a chance to clean em and shoot em.
Thanks

Do I have to confess if I can't remember how many I bought and did not tell the wife about any of them?
Sounds like you spent your allowance in a good way, congrats.
A M15 with a 5" barrel?

Haven't seen the 15 in close to a month, looked about 5 inches to me but they may have been fishing inches,I will measures it on Saturday and see.
What is the normal barrel length for a Combat Masterpiece, I think it was it 4 inches but I would swear it looked longer, I never thought about it till now.
Thanks Penmon

Well we haven't had a winter so if I were you I'd moaning about no winter. Sounds like you did really well.

Penmon, Sounds like you and I had the same winter doledrums.
I must have the same affliction due to shortened daylight hours

CAI?

Just that you had me wondering for a few seconds why the CIA would need/want to import these.

I usually hide my new purchases in the gun safe, and if she ever notices a new one, I can honestly claim to have had it for "a while".

I have no idea as to why CIA would import a Beretta 92F other than the fact they can.
Italian made, fit and finish seem to be of the highest quality.

Not in as bad shape as I originally thought, very good internals showing minimal wear, with a great looking chrome bore and M9 type bar on bar sights.

The AP marking on trigger guard indicates it was made in 1986.

I hope posting this photo in this part of the forum is not a rule violation,I just wanted to show you the Century import mark as mentioned earlier in this thread.

Thanks

Mamma knows I have a lot of guns. I tell her it's part of our retirement portfolio. I really go thru fads. A FRIEND OF MINE GAVE ME AN OLD 1905 M&P. This thing was in bad shape. I took off te side plate and took it down to the frame and gave it a good cleaning, put it back together. Wow this thing locked up tight and had a really smooth trigger. Shot some target wad cutters in it and was really impressed. That started it all for me.Then I found a 1905 4th change on gun broker for $300.00 in about 85% condition. Bought a Model 25-5 at LGS 6 inch barrel. That started me down a dark road. Bought a 27-2 in 98% condition with presentation box, papers and tools. Then purchased a Model 29-2 with presetation box about 97%. Took it out for deer season and got a nice 8 point buck. About 2 months ago I picked up a real nice model 19-4 6 inch and finnally bought a nickle 586 4 inch. I learned to shoot with my dadand he always had Colts so I have a Official Police and a Python, but really impressed with the Smith's. They all shoot acurate and the triggers are smooth. The Colts have a really smooth action ,but have a longer pull so I think the smiths are eiasier to shoot double action. My wife says it's a sickness and I think she's right.

C.A.I. was a importer exporter in Vermont until the Clinton gun bans shut them down.

They imported many different brands, FEG,Beretta ect.

The addresses will be either St Albans, VT or Georgia, VT.

C.I.A. is Century International Arms and as far as I know they are still in business.
Century International Arms

I am assuming the "C.I.A. Georgia,VT" imprint on the Beretta is the current Century Arms.

Thanks

Stop saying C.I.A. The gun is clearly marked C.A.I. However it is Century International Arms in Georgia, VT. They mark them that way for obvious reasons. Most likely a European police issue gun, re-imported back stateside. You could probably contact them and they may provide information on the gun as to where it has been.

By the way, "Pre Mdl 10 (MP) Dull Blued finish, refinished?", looks like original finish to me. That's how they were finished back in the day. Nice looking piece, ya done good!!

Ken L,
Sorry, C.A.I.,C.A.I.,C.A.I.,Say it three times and it's yours forever.Must be reading too many spy novels.

Thanks for the heads up and good news on the dull blue, any idea on the DOB?

The blue on the part that hinges the crane assembly, this is the part that enters the frame (crane arm ?) is 80 to 90% intact, showing very little wear compared to my other S&W revolvers. This coupled with virtually no wear on the ejector assemble, as well as the absence of lead residue on the front of the cylinder , no rings of lead inside the cylinder and a very faint turn line led me to believe it may have been a re blue.

If in fact this is the original finish the gun was probably fired sparingly if at all and very seldom loaded and unloaded.

Thank you
Penmon
