Sunday my wife and I were driving to meet relatives for dinner and on a 4 lane highway we were doing 60 in a 55 mph zone in the right lane and came upon a little group of other vehicles doing approx the same speed in both lanes. Up from behind a kid on a Ninja bike came from behind doing 80-90 mph and slammed on the brakes in back of the pickup abreast of me. He waited for a little clearance and went between us on the center line narrowly missing me and the car in front of me. He had to slow down again because two more vehicles blocked his path. But that didn't stop the Ninja and he went between those two and accellerated rapidly down the road.

I told my wife "Look at that a--hole" and added "Where is a cop when you need him?"

With that the flashing red and blue strobe lights roared by me, weaved through the traffic and pulled Mr. Ninja over way up ahead. As we went by the Ninja was fishing through his glove box and I beeped the horn at him and gave the cop a big fist pump. Way to go!

What is it about the Ninja bikes? They are just not right.

My son has a Kawasaki 1200 something or other. He doesn't ride like an ass clown, but at least he is 40 years old!

I believe motorcycles should be made where you ride sitting bolt upright....the way God intended!

It seems like the Ninjas bring out the worst in people, especially the young. They act like they are trying to "prove" something...and they usually do...they prove just how stupid they are.

Those are the kind of guys we wind up scraping up off the road with what we refer to as a seed scoop.

This explains why I can get a seat belt ticket, while the other idiot can ride with no seat belt and no helmet...go figure,,,its a money grab for the state, and a death sentence to the bike rider

I certainly won't argue that the motorcyclist was the picture of safe driving, but that doesn't excuse the 'left lane campers' (those camped out in the left lane oblivious to what's going on around them) blocking the passing lane. PA, like most states, has a law to keep right except to pass, which is never enforced. Blocking the left lane while driving the same speed as the vehicle next to you on the right is dangerous and arrogant. I've been in my car many times wishing I could squeeze between the LLC and the vehicle on the right. I wouldn't do so even if I was on a motorcycle, but I can understand the temptation.

I even more love the ones who camp in the left lane in my blind spot. For some reason they feel more comfortable there than next to me. So I tend to slow down until I'm right next to them and then stay synchronized. Makes them go away. If there's lots of traffic, or worse yet, if there are really slippery conditions, I tend to slow down faster and make them go away completely. I really love driving in snow or on ice on an otherwise empty road, and the one person on the road sticks next to me.

I'm surprised that the cop chased the motorcycle. I understand that sometimes they don't bother. They can't catch them, and a motorcyclist like that is likely to be a self-limiting phenomenon. I remember one who went by on I635 in Dallas, doing a wheelie at maybe 80 until he was out of sight. I didn't look carefully at the accident scene a couple of miles further on, but I suspect that they were using one of those shovels.

Actually, if you have Florida license plates, camp out in the left lane pacing traffic, and drive for 20 miles with your blinker on, it's a good indication that you intended to vote for Algore in the presidential election if that pesky chad hadn't confused you . . . :D.

It's called "lane splitting" and is illegal about everywhere. A driver in Washington, D.C. put and end to a lane splitter by opening his door at the right moment. The clearances are so close that the slightest quiver on the handlebars will send the rider into a rear view mirror. Then he is a pin-ball.

No, there were no left lane bandits involved here. Everyone was doing over 60 and the two vehicles in the left lane were in the process of passing three vehicles in the right lane. Perfectly normal driving except for the jerkwad Ninja who felt 60+mph wasn't quite fast enough for him. I hope he blows a tire the next time he pulls a stunt like that and makes pink souffle' out of his brains.

Lane splitting is legal in CA. I haven't done it in moving traffic but I will occasionally at a stop light. I don't race between cars, just ease off the clutch and coast the line. That way, I have time to react to the ***holes who move in on the line to block the road. It's not like I am slowing their progress to get where they are going. Doing that at highway speeds is retarded.
