I had a Beretta PX4 9mm Subcompact...took it to the range yesterday and I could not get it on target. I had the man next to me shoot it to see if it was me, then I had the range master shoot it. Same result. 6" low and 3" left at ONLY 10 YARDS!!! I was so upset that I just quit shooting. When I buy a weapon I expect it to be at least somewhat accurate, or be adjustable to get to accurate. Not to be with the Beretta. Range master offered to trade me out of it for an M&P 9c. I jumped at the chance. So far I have put only 36 rounds through it, but I am absolutely in love with this weapon!

Price wise they are pretty close to each other. However, since the Storm had some issues I would think that you absolutely came out on top. A broken Cadillac is never as useful as a running chevy (not to imply that the Storm is a Caddy or the Smith a Chevy).

This is a followup to my reply. I did a little research and found that some owners of the Storms experienced accuracy problems with them during the first couple hundred rounds. They all seemed to settle down after that and did prove to be much more accurate than their initial performance suggested they would be. Perhaps something to do with the rotating barrel, I really don't know. Still, I think you made a "fair" trade and ended up with a pistol that has proven itself to be an accurate and reliable platform. I personaly like some of the Beretta's but I'd sure like to see their prices come down a bit.

Sounds like a fair deal money-wise, and a great deal if you love your new M&P. Nice!

Yes, a fair deal money-wise. Re-reading my last post I think my referring to it as a "fair" deal might have made it seem like I thought the trade was only so-so. But I actually meant that the trade was fair for both parties.

Thanks for the follow up. I too read where the accuracy was said to have been better after a couple of hundred rounds, so I was holding out hope. After 600 rounds, it was still horrible. This particular does not have the rotating barrel. I think it was just a bad one.

On the other hand....I am glad to have the M&P....a MUCH nicer weapon.

With that being said...I think it was a phenomal deal!:D The range master even threw in a 3rd magazine and a couple of boxes of Zombie Max HP's.

I have a px4 subcompact and really like it. Even took my chl instructor test with it at the Highway patrol range and scored a perfect 250 out of 250 with it. Not that the M&P has any issues just the PX4 when correct is a very dependable and accurate weapon IMHO. The important thing is that your happy with the deal.

I am sure the px4 subcompact is a fine weapon. Just torqued me that it was so inaccurate and according to the gunsmith, not adjustable. I paid really good money for what I thought was going to be my primary conceal weapon only to find out that it had that problem. Really glad you like yours. I will say that the PX4 shoots very nice.

Sounds like you both did good. It's always nice when both people are happy when swapping items. Local PD carries the M&P 9mm and the ones I have talked to seem really content with it as their duty weapon. I have never been close to the PX4 but it looks really cool in the pictures, very Star Wars like.
