I have a early 4 screw K-38 made in 1956 right between the five screw and the M14-1. Nice gun with matching diamond grips. No other parts serialized. Little muzzle wear and a couple minor marks. Overall, maybe a little over 97%. Is there any premium for this revolver? How much could I expect? What I really want is a 1946 or so K-38 that matches 100% and has the slim bbl. Thanks, Big Larry:):):);););):D:D:D:D

Big Larry, I do not believe there is a premium for your gun unless it lettered to someone well known or had a special history to it. I would think that a real nice gun in that condition, a 4 screw, would probably be $600.00 without a box or tools. On the other hand the gun you are looking for is going to be considerably higher , same condition and without any of the package. Look at our member David Carrol's site and I believe he has/had one or two really nice ones and you can see the difference in price. Others may have different opionions to value,, driven by geography, etc. Good to get more than one opinion. Good luck with your quest.

Geography has a lot to do with it. You could not get that kind of money here in Florida. Maybe, on a good day, if you got two guys fighting over it on an auction you might get that much for it. I see gun prices softening as disposable cash gets tighter in this economy. At gunshows, I see many guys walking around with two guns each to sell and most leave with them unsold. I recently had a 99% 1950s pre-model 15 and could not get more than $500 for it here on our "classifieds" and finally sold it locally for $500.:(

Thanks guys. I still want a pre 14 K-38 standard bbl. Have found many, but not one all matching. Thanks, Big Larry:):)
