Thinking of Buying a Shield Questions.

Pocket packed my Shield 9 for 2 years. Decided to switch out for the Taurus 380 which is half the weight. I love how my Shield shoots, but I am a pocket guy and 380 is hard to beat for comfort.

I appreciate all the insight on the Shield. I have ordered one and am patiently waiting for it to arrive. Not sure when that will be. Please don't ask for pictures because I still rock the flip phone.

I have researched several places in regard to IWB holster and have a good idea the direction I will go with that as well. As far as OWB goes, I believe I will lean toward a Lobo SL1 Pancake for that duty. Have one for my 642 and love it and the ease of taking it on and off.

Thanks again.

I have the exact combination. G-26 and a Smith 642. I bought a M&P Shield 9mm for the days that I just can't cover the G-26 and some days I want more than 5 shots. I carry the M&P in an Alien IWH and love it. I have 8 shots in the gun and 8 in an extra mag. It has become my main carry and that is hard for me to say because I have been a very loyal fan of the Glocks for many years.

My Shield was demoted from my EDC and replaced by my Sig P938. I still own my Shield and a G26 but the Sig is by far the best out the three. The quality is better and it's smaller and lighter than the others. Had zero problems with the Sig and it's fed everything I have put through it, including +P hollow points.

The Sig should be better quality at around $700 a copy. You could get a Shield, add an apex trigger, talon grip with pearce grip extension, express big dot sites and have Xd-man refinish the slide in stainless and spend less. Heck maybe even a few extra magazines. And does the Sig come in a 40 cal? I'm not for sure.

The only problem with my Shield is that I can't seem to build up my ammo supply because it is so fun to shoot!
