I am entertaining the idea of a shoulder rig for my 3" 686 while riding my motorcycle. I usually carry OWB or IWB, but the jacket may move, or if the girlfriend is on the bike it can jam into her leg.

One of my main concerns is that most of the rigs I look at, the gun side is basically left to dangle from the shoulder, which seems fine for standing up. But I ride a sport bike, and most of my time I am pitched forward. I am wondering if there is a rig that has a belt hook going to the holster to keep it from shifting forward.

Bianchi x15 is my favorite for carrying my 629. It's secure, and doesn't point back towards the passenger or the vehicle behind you. It's also easy to keep concealed under a jacket or shirt with the wind. It's old school, but works.

Barsony makes a nice rig. I use one for my motorcycle carry that I purchased through Amazon. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JSZ5ZZ8/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1429022179&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=barsony+shoulder+holster&dpPl=1&dpID=31rRRP%2B2GPL&ref=plSrch[/ame]

Contact Ray at Lobo GunLeather. He might be able to help with something.

I was hoping that Ray would have an option, he has made all of my other carry gear. :p

"Most" vertical shoulder holsters have a loop of some kind that fastens the bottom of the holster to your belt!

I to have a really old Bianchi x15 that has served me well over the years. I carry a High Standard Victor pistol in it for squirrel hunting and it stays (keeps the gun in place) during all the strenuous hiking and movement due to the belt clip.

I carry my 4" N frames in a few different shoulder holsters, my favorite being the Bianchi X-2100. I have a nearly identical rig by Triple K and a similar version by Safariland. The Bianchi X-15 is a universal revolver/semi-auto holster while the X-2100 is for revolvers as it is made with a recess for the cylinder, offering more security. The Bianchi X-2000 was for semi-autos. Later versions had a retaining strap.

That said, a smaller, thinner firearm such as a S&W Shield wold carry easier and might cause less injury to your body in the event of a fall.

I like the Tanker holster from El Paso. I used one for years to carry a 1911 in, of all things, a tank. Crawling in and out of tanks and working on the beasts the official USArmy version worked great and I find the ElPaso version with my little Kahr P9 is very unobtrusive. If you open your jacket it does show a strap across your chest if that bothers you.
