I have new-gun-itis. I'm thinking of selling my M&P9c and buying a Sig 229 Elite. I, of course, would have to add some significant funds to what I get from the 9c. Problem is, I have never had a minute's trouble with the M&P. What do you guys think? Is the Sig worth my MP plus another $400 or so?

I think you are going to see a lot of LE agencies moving away from the Sig. This has started to happen in NC, with a number of police and sheriff's departments dumping the Sig in favor of the S&W, but usually in .40 caliber. Lots of reasons ranging from weight, the grip size (interchangeable grips fit male and female officers), etc.

I recently shopped .45s and looked at just about all of the major manufacturers. I bought an M&P .45 and feel like it was a great choice.

In the end...it's all about what you want, though. Good luck with your decision.

I think you are making a big mistake. SIG
heavy, nice but like was said Sigs are hitting
the used market. I know you may never find
the one you want, but you might. I have 5
MP's and ordered the sixth. I have a small
hand and the backstraps workout great for
me. Good Luck

Depends.

Do you want a tool or a pretty toy?

What if you had to rack the slide's ejection port on the edge of a metal folding chair during a training exercise?

You aren't going let the Elite get any
scratches or dings.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. I'll just save my money and buy that 629 or 29 .44 mag I have been craving!

Thanks for bringing me back to my senses!

Keep it. You will regret selling it.

Save for a good used Sig.

Ain't that the stinkin' truth. Save your lunch money and get a used Sig so you can have both.

As soon as I bought my M&P-9c, I wanted to sell it. I even put it on gunbroker.com a few times. After a couple of months, that 'want to sell' urge phased out, and I'm glad I kept it.

Bonedigger,

I think you need a nice 3rd generation S&W semiautomatic. I picked up a 5906 from a friend. Damn nice pistol. There are many other variants to choose from.
