I just recently bought a 4013tsw and was wondering if there was any replacement parts to remove the ambidextrous safety. More specifically i want to remove the lever from the right side. Also looking to remove the mag disconnect safety spring and plunger, anyone have any issues with performance after doing so? Thanks for any help

I have removed the mag safety in my 5904, you need to drift the sight to the right. I just removed the spring and left the plunger in. It continued to run like a champ after I removed the spring.

The 4013TSW is based on a 9mm frame, so you'll want a Safety Body for 9mm rather than 45ACP. Here are the factory part #'s for both finishes and one of the models they would be used for:
Blued (model 908) - 201990000
Stainless (model CS9) - 202090000

I know Midway no longer carries either one, maybe a place that sells used parts like Numrich would pan out. Calling S&W is always an option too (1-800-331-0852, ext. 4125), just not sure if they have been making these lately.

Just a heads up if your planning to DIY - a different safety body may throw your de-cock timing off, and you may need to adjust or fit a new sear release lever. You might be able to get S&W to do this, though I've personally been told 'repair work only' for 3rd Gens lately. Could be there's a local gunsmith who would be able to do it as well.

I previously changed the left side only safety/decocker on my 3913TSW and also my CS9 to ambidextrous safety and I saved the left side only safety/main safety body parts from the left side only configuration. If you know, or if someone here on the forum can let us know if these parts will fit your 4013TSW, we should be able to arrange a deal that you would be happy with.

In looking at the parts listings in Numrich, looks like they have them listed as different part numbers, but I do not know, lets see what forum members have to say, or perhaps you know already if these will fit your 4013TSW.

One thing that might be causing some confusion is that a factory 3913TSW came with an ambi-safety body. If yours came with a single-sided safety, it could have been switched out or maybe a special order.

In other words, either of those safety bodies should work for his 4013TSW.

Great info. Thanks for the replies. Please excuse the silly question, but if i put one of these single sided safetues in, am i going to be left with a hole on the right side lf my slide? Or is it long enough to go all the way through? Also im nkt sure i understand the decocking timing. Arent these platforms the same safety configuration minus the whole ambidextrous thing?

Like a revolver hammer or trigger, it's not a drop in part. Needs a little hand fitting . . .

Yes, that was exactly what I thought when I got the 3913TSW with left side only lever, that it was either a special order or previous owner changed it out.

0849, are your spare parts black or silver?

I have one of each, black one that I took off my CS9, at botttom, that I purchased new, and stainless finish one, top, came off my 3913TSW.
