This cherry 27-2 3 1/2" was easy to find and easy to afford...

I understand collectors want to keep everything new and unused but if that beauty were mine I would shoot it. I would be the envy of my range and it would feel great!!

If I was asked to make a list of the best-looking guns of all time, it would be hard to not put a 3.5 inch 27 at the top.

Stunning combination.

I have always admired S&W blued revolvers. I'll never forget my mother's compliment when she saw my first M19. However, I have to admit that the 1875 Remington is the one revolver that I think is better looking than any other, and the 1858 Army (or Navy) is just a tad less pretty.

The gun is vintage of September 1978 and bought as new @1995. The Ropers were made not long ago by Curt Harlow.

Those were the days!
John, this post is very confusing to my feeble mind. Are you saying the gun was made in 1978 and bought new in 1995 or the gun was made in 1978 and bought (?) for $1995?

Beautiful example of the Model 27 with all the trimmings.
That's one that I would pull out of the safe and admire frequently.
BTW, Curt did a great job on those grips.
Enjoy.

And that's what makes us collectors more over than shooters.
You must overcome the desire to shoot everything in your collection just because.
I don't shoot my outside factory un-fired guns either.
