1. Smith & Wesson Pre-36. Shipped in October of 1955. C&R eligible. 1.75-inch barrel. Vintage Tyler-T grip adapter. This is an all numbers matching gun, including stocks. This little gun looks exactly like what it's been for fifty-four years...someone's carry piece. Bluing is faded in spots. There are numerous small marks, dings, high-edge wear, holster wear at the muzzle, and some freckling on the backstrap. But there is no rust and no pitting on this gun. The bluing that remains looks good. Action is tight, lockup is secure. Barrel and chambers are in excellent shape. Case hardening on hammer and trigger still looks good.

The photos show this gun as it really looks. It isn't one of your pretty boy Pre-36 safe queens. It's a concealed carry piece from another era, pure and simple...this is the 36 you want if you're looking for a J-Frame to stick in a winter jacket pocket or between the seats of a car or truck, and not worry about scratching it up. Any questions, ask me.

$425 shipped.

2. (Sold Pending Funds) Ruger 3-Screw Old Model .44 Magnum Super Blackhawk. This revolver shipped in May of 1964. Factory letter (not shown) included in this sale.

Six-shot single-action with a 7.5-inch barrel, this gun features Ruger's high-polish deep blue that was only offered on the Super Blackhawks of that era. Ruger walnut stocks. This revolver has not had the transfer bar installed. This revolver comes with its own soft carrying case (no charge for any dog hair you may find on it). Adjustable rear sight. I'd rate the finish at 90%. There are some small marks on the left side of the barrel. I have no idea what they are. Not rust, not pits. Looks as if a previous owner may have laid the gun down on concrete or bricks or something with a rough surface. They may look worse in the photos than in real life. The gun has some muzzle wear as well. This revolver also comes with a pair of vintage Jay Scott pearl grips (not shown)

In the early- to mid-seventies, I hunted with a gun just like this using my own hot loads. This is one of the Rugers people talk about when they refer to "Ruger only loads". I've personally fired this gun at paper targets and 100-yard silhouettes using factory loads. It is very accurate, and it performs flawlessly. It's a heavy gun and it absorbs recoil very well.

I've been shooting handguns for over fifty years. This is one of the best and most accurate revolvers for handgun hunting I've ever used.

$760 shipped.

3. (Sold Pending Funds) Ruger 3-screw Old Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt. Ruger made the Blackhawk in .45 Colt for only three years...from 1970-1973. This one with the 4.5-inch barrel dates from 1973, the final year, and it's in excellent condition. This barrel length is very hard to find, especially in this condition. No box and no papers with this revolver.

The Old Model 3-screw Blackhawks have a reputation for strength and durability that's well deserved. Their longevity as a pure working/hunting revolver is well documented by ordinary shooters and respected gun writers like the late Skeeter Skelton.

This gun has not had the transfer bar conversion.

In some of these photos, you may see what appears to be small dark spots on the finish. They are not on the gun. It's just some dirt or fungus on the inside of one of my camera lenses, that's all. It has a few small handling marks and a turn line that's so faint, it's almost invisible. This gun came out of New Mexico and it's hardly been fired at all. No rust, no pits, no holster wear, no edge wear. The photos tell the story.

The grips were custom made for me from Oregon myrtle and they look better in real life than they do in these photos. There isn't a mark on them.

This will make someone an outstanding field/woods gun!
