A nickel C-prefix round-butt Pre-10 snub. From the very late '40s to mid-'50s given the hammer and front sight profiles and the top sideplate screw.

With a little Flitz and old T shirt, you can get that thing up and running in a little bit.

Very desirable 5 screw M&P in .38 special with 2" barrel and rare factory nickle finish. Original grips nmbered to gun, good honest wear appropriate for a gun this age. Strip it, blast it, parkerize it. Ugly shooting is better than no shooting at all. Or put in on GunBroker. Bet you could get at least $150 as is.

Thanks for the sharing of this piece. It was a very desirable configuration, indeed. I, for one, would be inclined to try some electrolysis, or, given the nickel, at least a good soak for 2 weeks or more in ATF or Kroil. At least you could discover the condition of interior that way.
