I don't know that I'm an expert, but I am a gun crank that messes with defensive handgun ammo and finds it fascinating.
I tested the standard pressure .38 110 gr. Critical Defense ammo, the results are in the Perma-Gel Test Results thread. Obviously the +P is a slightly different ammo. Also take a look at the Corbon +P 110 gr. DPX results (as well as Speer SB +P). The Hornady product is a decent offering, but I just don't see it performing better than DPX. Certainly it won't against barriers such as auto glass. At the same time, if Critical Defense is what you have available and you and your gun shoot it well together, then I would see no immediate need to switch.
